The true mastery of Chinese rugs, such as this one, can only really be experienced in rugs that pre-date the 1910's. The beautiful birds of paradise, open design and the sprinkled flowers set on a royal blue background and surrounded by the light colored border gives the onlooker a feeling of calm and tranquility. So lifelike, it is as if with one step one is instantaneously transported to a beautiful and carefree garden where all the worries of the world simply disappear.
Please note the original dimensions of this rug. Although supplied as modifiable, over stretching may distort the pattern. Also note that as a representation of a handmade product it may have less than perfect linage. This part of the beauty of such a rug.
