Here is the exhaustive list of the features packed in the Cool Sensor v3.02:

- Can be used as a sim-wide radar (detects up to 100 avatars in the sim, regardless of their position and altitude).

- Can be worn as a sim-wide sensor HUD.

- Can be used as an alarm to warn you about incoming avatars (light, sound and/or text warnings).

- Can secure a perimeter around itself against unauthorized access (works only on your own land). Can also eject any banned people over your land in the sim, regardless of how far the banned avatars are from the sensor.

- Three ejection modes (teleport home, eject from land, ban from land). Can also eject/ban from group-deeded lands.

- Protection/alarm range configurable from 10m to 200m.

- Text (including optional headings) or 3D display of the contacts, with display names support.

- Optional sim map texture for the 3D display. 3D sculpt map support (with the use of TerrainSculptor to create the textures).

- The tracking dots are coloured following their range (chat distance, shout distance, and beyond shout distance) and the closest contacts are listed first in the text display. Smart shortening of contact names in the text display when needed, allowing to list more avatars.

- Advanced configuration for access and control (access list, ban list, control list, group access and/or control). The list are static but avatars can be dynamically and temporarily (till the next reset of the Cool Sensor) added to them.

- Auto adaptive algorithms and smart throttling ensuring a proper functioning even in the laggy sims.

- Generates as little lag as possible (highly optimized code, probe-less system taking advantage of the newest LSL functions) and throttles itself in case of excessive lag. All scripts compiled for Mono, with memory caping whenever possible.

- Animated radar texture (pretty when worn as a HUD). The sensor body color and the animated texture frame rate also reflects the throttling steps the sensor might take to fight and prevent lag (see above).

- Reset resilient configuration data: the Cool Sensor remembers its settings over resets, sim restarts, etc.

- Auto update feature via updaters (when a new version is issued, simply rez the updater next to the Cool Sensor to update it).

As you can see, this item groups the functions of a sim wide radar, a HUD radar/sensor, and a security system, and this for only L$500 !... A very reasonable cost to guarantee your privacy.

Limted range

It's an 2008 build so be warned the range if very limited and can't be used in a sky-box control platform. Giving the date with respect this should be ether free or about 10L.

It is a great tool to monitor and protect your sim. The 3D display shows the avatars nearby sim wide, accurately. It doesn't generate much lag, has many useful options and still easy to use. I extended the 3D display with a sculpt map of the sim and replaced the tracking dot with a pointing down cone, for the better visibility and accuracy. Personally, I miss the option of control via chat commands that is useful at a security device, much easier and faster than to cam there and click it then browse through the menu - but that is my opinion.
