Magical Witch Cottage Babacadabra
Once upon a time there was a magician who lived a happy life in the hidden woods of central France.
He drew magic from the nature around him, and nourished himself with the rhythm of the forest. He learned to see all those small magic things which bring happiness in life.
He asked the forest - which is never alone and shares its energy with all other living things - to create a state of neverending magic.
But, after many years he started to feel something was missing, the magic of his life seemed to have faded a little.
And no matter what he tried, he began to feel lonely.
He yearned to give, and receive magic, and asked "where am I in all this beauty, how can I share it?". He did not find an answer.
Then suddenly, out of nothing - or perhaps given by everything - he realised what was missing. A companion who knows about the Magic of Life.
A witch maybe!
But how does one find a witch, where are they? He knew of none, so he decided to use his magic to find one.
He realised the old castle he was living in would not be an attractive place for a witch, because they do not like the stone structures of buildings built to capture the feeling of being a home. He had the notion that witches would like to live in a magic place constructed by nature herself.
So he decided to rebuild the Castle.
He planted several enchanted trees, but only one sprouted - Babacadabra. She took root between the castle foundations, feeding from the earth below, and spread her branches over this new home.
Slowly, in time, the structure of the castle began to transform into a more vivid and natural house. The roof changed from slates to thatched, stone elements transformed into wood and the rocks around opened here and there to give more freedom to live.
And one day, when the castle had truly become a witch cottage - he recaptured his source of happiness. He loved living among all the magic the building now possessed.
But still no witch, . . . . .not yet. Time would work the final magic.
I am the magician, will you be my witch?

An amazing cottage with some surprises
When I first saw this I thought it looked really cool. The build in dome with the tree on top was pretty distinctive. Then I got a chance to really explore it and it's up there with the best small fantasy homes on the grid. Given that it only takes a 20X20 footprint and doesn't really use all of that, it feels much larger inside than it is. If one is good with several smaller spaces rather than a couple huge grand spaces, this is ideal. There are even a couple hidden rooms to add to the fun. The texturing for the most part is incredible. The stonework is some of the best use of bump and specular mapping I've seen. I had to zoom in and look from a shallow angle to realize they aren't actually 3d modeled. The interior spaces are likewise very well done. The one area that just isn't up to the same standard are the textures on some of the glass windows and stairway. The ones with just the branches as an outline fit in with the cottage's theme and are fine. The ones with the raven and the one with the spider are just a bit too much. If I want a flock of ravens flying around, I can get modeled ones that actually fly around. This isn't horrible to fix. The texture faces all make sense and I can redo the ones that need it when I get around to it. It's not a critical issue while I get everything else done with a new parcel.
Then we get to the one real negative. That's the cheesy sounds and worse the particle rezzers on every opening door and window. They not only don't add any value or ambiance, they actually detract from the house. I'm experienced enough to know how to fix those things, and I'll do it because the rest of the build is so amazing, but I shouldn't have to. Somebody less experienced with the editor might not be able to and that would leave this almost unusable in my eyes. I had some friends over to look at it and that's what they mostly noticed. That was kind of sad. Had those not been there, this would have gotten 5 stars easily.
