Best Heli On The Grid!!
I know to call anything the "best" it has to meet a certain standard, and surpass other of it's kind. I own a few heli's and though they're pretty great, the D-139 tops them in every category! I've spent several hours in my D-139 since I got it, and have not one single complaint..flying is fantastic, painting is a breeze, and refueling is no problem. I highly recommend this, and for that matter ALL of the planes from DA!
Top Helicopter
I loved flying my D-300 by Dani so figured I'd give one of his helicopters a go. Wasn't disappointed, top quality product and super fun to fly. Sim crosses great, even with passengers :D
Realism + best value
Best control easy to use hud, realistic controls and feel. The rescue helicopter version able simulate dropping harness and carriage for realistic rescue. Best value since you actually get three version so the price is little over 1K L$ per helicopter. Highly recommended if you are serious about flying in SL.
Great helicopter!
I already own the smaller D-109 helicopter so I wasn't sure if getting this D-139 would 'add' anything. Well, it does! It handles very smoothly and crosses sim-borders extremely well (also at high speed). All positive reviews are well-deserved. The price may not be a bargain, but you get a lot of value (and fun) for money.
The Most realistic I've Seen in SL
My RL career was Army Aviation (MOS: 67N - go look it up) - so I know helicopters inside and out. Even had the opportunity to drive one a few times (UH-1D) - lots of fun. (Pro-tip pilots: You turn on your beacon before you start engines, this is what the beacon is for: to warn others that you're hot).
I have the Omega Concern HIND and NOTAR - I *thought* they were the best flight models I could find (3D models are gorgeous) - but they SUCK. Sure, they're fluid in movement, but seriously: speed and altitude management is the worst I've ever seen. So I fall back to my S&W birds, because I like variety - but the flight models feel like video games.
I've known about this D-139 for a long time. Though the price this high without a flyable demo? Ummm, no. It was only when championed by a friend who allowed me to fly his (and told me you get all three models in one box) that I had to take the risky plunge (because we've all been burned before, right?).
THIS IS THE BEST HELICOPTER FLIGHT MODEL IN ALL OF SL. I know, because I've done the real thing for years and years. Amazingly realistic speed and altitude management, yet still damned easy to fly (by SL terms) - this is the best VTOL bird in SL, hands-down.
For those considering buying this product, but balking at the cost:
You get all three variants and they aren't just different paint jobs, but literally have different features and ability. You get a paint kit, meaning you have access to the PSD file so you can create your own liveries (provided you know how). You get a lot of little extras with it: pilot's headset, fuel depots (if you choose to use the fuel feature, which is optional) - and the most fluid, smoothest handling of any other helicopter I have experienced in 10 years of SL.
