Amazing!

Exactly what you would expect from a Dani plane AND more! Only complaint is that the DVD player stops working after you cross a sim boundry, but aside from that. Incredible and worth every penny!

Good one, however.....!

Yes, another good plane from Dani, still the best compromise between RL and SL limitations, however, I must say that I have a couple disapointments
Fist of all the most important, it feels too light, the controls are quite too vivid, an A318 should feel heavier than that, thus, turns ratio is too short.
I'm disapointed on the dashboard, I was expecting a lot more working (and readable) flight instruments gauges, I regret the lack of working airspeed indicator, VSI, Altimeter, and I'm sorry that the heading indicator is unreadable even in mouselook, unless you zoom in (right click and mousewheel).
I regret the abscence of a fuel system on such a pure airliner (Flight planning is great before a flight isn't it ?)
For those who like huds, I would replace the turn indicator by an attitude indicator, or even better, add it to it.(in previous Dani's planes as well :) )
Well, it's still an enjoyable SL airplane, nicely detailed, fairly good simcrosser, always so cool to be able to repaint it, of course...
Happy flying in...

Best Airliner in SL

Well, this one might have been one of the most eagerly anticipated of Dani's planes. It certainly was for the SL airlines. Does it live up to expectations? Very much so.

First off, the model is gorgeous. It's highly detailed inside and out and well textured. It's also massive. While it's actually about the same length and wingspan of the 737, it's widebody fuselage makes it seem far larger. The most amazing thing is that this is all done with an LI of 123 (without stairs or GPU). To put that in perspective, the E-170 is 176Li . There have been a number of very talented modelers in SL who have flat out said a plane this size couldn't be done with a reasonable Li.

That low Li means this aircraft crosses sims as well or better than many much smaller aircraft. My experience is it recovers from crossing issues that would kill most other aircraft. It also keeps the passengers inside. I have yet to have a passenger fall out on a crossing in this. I suspect locating the sitable seats toward the front might help with this.

The flight handling is remarkably tame for an aircraft this size. The response to controls is a bit fast, but not twitchy. Landings are very easy. If one starts at the right altitude, it pretty well lands itself. The HUD and paint system are standard Dani. There is a copilot lock based on the cockpit door. The pushback tug is back again. I wish this could be set to let somebody other than the owner use it.

There are two negatives I found. First is the sparse instrument panel. There is no working altimeter, airspeed, or rate of climb on the panel. I don't know why the panel from the 300 wasn't used. Mouselook flight without the HUD would be almost impossible. Second is the unneeded change in the command to turn on the headlight. Instead of 'hl' it's now 'nsl' This means a new gesture and another key assignment (I don't use the HUD.)

Those aside, this is the airliner all others will be measured against and its a very high bar indeed.

Truly more epic than we even thought!

Love this plane. It's massive but it still fits in the major airports. Flies like a dream, as we've come to expect form Dani airplanes and the visual details are second to none! The cabin makes a RL frequent flier like myself feel quite at home. Thanks again, Dani, for bringing SL aviation into 2015!
