The Illiastra "Playable Ocarina" is simple to use, just like the musical instrument it portrays. You'll have an idyllic time sitting in your breakfast nook or strolling through a glade, tooting out a simple, joyful tune that the people around you can also enjoy.

Not only can you play your own notes and songs on it, but it comes with numerous examples to get you started.

All you really need to do is "add" it to yourself-- the right hand is recommended. Once you've done that, you'll be able to click it and get a menu.

Tunes...
=====
This is a list of simple tunes to get you started. You'll find them listed and scored in the ".Tunes.cfg" file in the contents tab of the ocarina itself. Simply "Edit" the ocarina and find the "Contents" tab. Under that, you'll see a number of things listed. Double-click on the ".Tunes.cfg" and follow the directions. Add or delete songs at your leisure. If you come up with something amazing, send me the ".Tunes.cfg" file so I can enjoy it, too!

"Free Play..."
========
This is a simple way to play notes on the ocarina directly. Just press the right note and you should see and hear your avatar play it!

It's COPY/MOD!
==========
You will find that you can easily change the colors and textures of the ocarina-- as well as scale it! I encourage you to do so-- and send me pictures of the results! (Send me your own song compositions, too-- it's fun!)

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the way Second Life plays animations on the hands and face, finger placement will only be approximate. Also, you may need to scale/move/rotate the ocarina so it matches up to your face properly when you play it. Based on your avatar's build, you have the choice of using the "thin" or "broad" version of the included AO to help you line the instrument up with your mouth.

Same as the pan pipe they sell. Equally bad.

Not what I was expecting.

While I read the description carefully I didn't expect for it to sound so...Fake. Perhaps this is an error on my part but I wouldn't be able to stand playing- especially around other people, something that sounds like it did.

Compared to other ocarinas on the market...

I took a look at some of the other ocarinas on the market and, based on what I saw of the advertising, it was clear that Illiastra takes everything about their product seriously... so I took a chance with my L$9.

I absolutely love it. Here's a song I made and wanted to share:
Minuet>GCDEFGCC_AFGABHCC_FGFFDE_FEDCD_CDECD

Just add that to your .tunes.cfg notecard and you can play it, too! Now I'm off to buy the full version!
