What does it do?

The rezday (the day someone created their Second Life account) holds special significance for many residents of SL. Not everyone noticed it at signup, but over the years, more and more people like to observe it as their SL “anniversary.” With this add-on to the Discord Relay, you stay one step ahead and never miss a rezday or birthday. With full birthday support (with or without the year), you can celebrate both Second Life anniversaries and real-life milestones with ease.

In addition to Discord notifications, this script can display hovering text above the in-world item, showing the day's special events right where everyone can see. Because birthdays can feel more personal than rezdays, we've included a privacy feature that lets you easily suppress birthdays from the hovertext if needed. By default, both rezdays and birthdays appear in the hovertext, but with a simple configuration setting, you can keep birthdays visible only in Discord—giving you the flexibility to celebrate publicly or maintain discretion in shared spaces.

Now with an upcoming events preview, you won’t just see what’s happening today: Discord notifications and in-world hovertext let you glance up to a week ahead, making it easy for active groups to prep for each day’s celebrations or send an early message.

Each Discord reminder gives you:
- A clickable username linking to their Second Life profile
- The exact rezday or birthday date
- The avatar’s current SL age (for rezdays, calculated to the year)
- The avatar’s current RL age (if birthdays are entered with years)
- One-click Google Calendar links so it’s easy to keep track—even outside SL!

This script is designed as an addition to the Discord Relay and will require version 3.0 or higher to function. Every day, your Discord channel receives a well-organized list of rezdays (Second Life birthdays) and optionally birthdays that occur on that day—or soon to come—and you’ll also get optional hovertext reminders in-world.

With heavy testing on large data sets (over 900 avatars' rezday and birthday records), this system never broke a sweat. We’re confident it’ll handle hundreds—or even thousands—of avatars with ease, keeping your community connected and ensuring that no milestone goes unnoticed.

The Mesh object

We have included an original mesh object in the form of an abstract birthday cake in this package. In combination with the hovertext display of rezdays, you can use this object as a public display in homes, clubs, etc.

Add your two Discord Relay scripts (Relay + Helper), the discord.cfg notecard, and the Rezday Reminder script into the cake-object for it to work.
