Dreaming Thicket - Dark Arts Tarot Set

Note: This deck of cards was created for your entertainment by a scripter. I'm not a psychic or an occultist, and I make no claims to these cards being able to do anything other than show you random pictures and offer some traditional meanings and symbols.

About

This deck contains all 78 cards in a traditional divination Tarot deck, with illustrations from the Rider Waite deck, which was created in 1909 and has passed into the Public Domain. This particular set is one of the most commonly used Tarot decks in the world.

My scripted version displays the images from those cards and gives a very brief summary of some possible meanings that card might have. While I have had a long standing interest in tarot cards, it's mainly been collecting decks as interesting objects rather than "practicing" tarot, so I'm not really an expert. There are many many books that have been written on the topic, and even a little Googling will get you all kinds of possible interpretations that are much more detailed than mine. I leave it up to you to learn more if you wish, there's only so much I can do in a little script!

"Public" and "Owner" versions

There are 2 different versions included in the package. The Owner version will only respond to the owner's touch, and only displays the card information to the owner. This is intended for people who want to either just read the cards for themselves, or to do readings for others by supplying their own interpretation of the cards. By default they will clean themselves up after two minutes in this version, but this can be turned off by hitting the "Clean Up: ON/OFF" button in the menu. If this is off, the cards will stick around until they are cleaned up by touching the deck.

The Public version allows anyone to initiate the cards being dealt, and allows anyone to flip the cards over, but won't put them away until the original dealer cleans up the cards by touching the deck or until the cards sit with no one touching them for 2 minutes, at which point they will automatically clean themselves up. (20/02/2015 - There is now an option for anyone to clean the cards up after the original user is no longer found on the region).

How to Use
-------------
Click the deck, and you will be presented with a selection of 6 spreads to deal (and a Cancel button, which is pretty self explanatory ^.~) Each will deal cards in a different configuration

Single Card - A single card for a simple question or quick reading.
3 Card Spread - 3 cards for a quick reading, positions are usually Past, Present, Future.
Horseshoe Spread - A more detailed spread of 7 cards in a horseshoe pattern.
Pentagram Spread - A 5 card spread arranged in a star shape.
Romany Spread - A very large spread of 21 cards for a detailed reading.
Celtic Cross Spread - Probably the most common larger spread, 10 cards in a cross pattern with a "staff" on the right.

Once the cards are rezzed, you need only to touch the illustrated portion of the card (touching right on the edge won't work) in order to flip one over. There is no set order in the script for flipping them, even though the positions have numbers. This is mainly because not everyone agrees on which order the cards should be flipped, when there is an "accepted" order at all.

A special note about reversed cards

Note that the --Reversed-- section only appears when the card actually *is* reversed, that is, it has been drawn upside down. The reason this is added at the bottom and not used to replace the regular meanings is that not everyone likes to use the reversal of a card as part of the reading, and would prefer to use the "default" meanings regardless of the orientation of the card. It's your choice to use the reversed meaning or not.

Once you are finished and want to put away the cards, just click the deck and hit "Yes" in the menu to clean them up!

- Unfortunately the land impact has raised to 9, but the deck no longer requires rezzing rights once out.
