Jeanne du Barry, Countess du Barry became in 1769 the official mistress of the monarch Louis XV, an official title at the court of Versailles, this came with a serie of apartments at the chateau and a large dowry attached to the rank.
A great lover of the arts and with impeccable taste for expensive furnishings, the Countess furnished her large appartments of more than 13 rooms with the help of the luxury merchand-mercier Simon-Philippe Poirier.
These pieces of furniture “in the latest fashion” have been collected and painstakingly replicated for this collection, from the fabrics used on the chairs to the latest details of the bronze mounts… as well as pieces acquired by the Countess according to the archives available, and thus reflecting her taste for the most sophisticated furniture of the period.

- A secretaire with porcelain plates

- A set of andirons in gilt bronze
- A large barometer-clock “d’Applique”
- A complete porcelain dinner service (composed of 15 pieces)
- A gilt-framed portrait
