Well loved hiking boots for classic (and brand new) avatars, plus mesh avatars with removable feet. The boots are unrigged and resizable using either the edit menu or the scripted XYZ resizer so you can get these to feet nearly any avatar, but try the demo to be sure they will work for your situation.
An ankle locking script (such as the one offered by SLink for free here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Slink/67/149/28
will allow these to work even when mesh feet can not be removed.

Wasn't sure about whether these boots would work with mesh bodies, but they do at least work with the two brands I have. They're really nicely made, too! Good texturing and shape.
