*** IMPORTANT: As of version 1.2.0, shapes are no longer required! The new system is purely script based! ***
Overview
------------
The Dynamic Hover Height (DHH) tool allows you to automatically change your viewer hover height depending on whether you're standing, crouching or ground sitting.
This is useful when your avatar animations don't quite line up with the ground, but to different amounts.
Pre-requisites
--------------------
DHH requires a viewer that supports hover height as well as RLV (Firestorm and Black Dragon tested).
Enabling RLV
--------------------
Examples for Firestorm and Black Dragon shown below (a viewer restart is required).
Firestorm: Preferences > Firestorm > Allow Remote Scripted Viewer Controls (RLVa)
Black Dragon: Preferences > Restrained Love > Enable Restrained Love (A)
Usage
---------
Attach the DHH object supplied in the box, then use /45hover command, as per below.
Usage: /45hover <stand_hover> <crouch_hover> <groundsit_hover>
eg. /45hover 0.0 -0.3 0.25
The above example sets standing hover to 0m, crouching hover to -0.3m and ground sitting hover to 0.25m.
Awesome!
Just what I needed, wish there was a better way than making multiple shapes but beggars cannot be choosers. Thank you!
Exactly what i was looking for
It's precisely what i needed to enjoy my favorite ground sits and crouch animations! I'm glad i got this and took the time to set it up right. Sure you need RLV enabled which means you got to pay attention to people trying to RLV lock you by randomly requesting permission to take you over, but paying attention is something you need online all the time anyway XD The only downside i ran across is that my stationary crouch and moving crouch are different heights anyway, so i had to choose which one to optimise for.
Just keep in mind that if you're like me and you like to modify your avatar every once in a while to finetune it, you got to modify all three shapes in the same way, so your modifications dont suddenly SLURP back into their previous position.
5 out of 5 ^^ this fixed one of my biggest griefs with Second life, as poses are all tailored to maxed out avatars, rather than avatars based on real heights, like 6 feet.
Great product!
Can be a bit tedious for beginners to set up initially, but ultimately is one of the most useful purchases for those using any small avatar. Automatic swapping of shapes when sitting and crouching, none to very few rez fails of the shapes, and honestly saves alot of needless height changing between positions. Used on my small ponies and all short avatars that SL so loves to bury into the ground. One of my best purchases on SL, would recommend to anyone hoping to escape an early burial. :)
rules
idk why that other review is 4 stars? what this does is uses RLV to switch your shapes so your hover changes. It rules and I love it, exactly what I needed!
Simpler than you would expect
Essentially this product will swap between different shapes that you've made already by itself, and each shape would have a different offset to fit your position. The item itself does not do this, it is more a convenience.
