EGW Box Clever
Weary of endless menus or tedious chat commands used by many inventory organisers?
If so try the EGW Box Clever script. Now you can organize your SL inventory, with ease.
Step 1 - rez a box
Step 2 - drop in the EGW Box Clever script
Step 3 - add your Clothing, Object, Sound, Landmark, Animation, Note card, Body part, Gesture, or Texture* to the content tab.
Note - if you have existing boxes packed already. Well no Step 3 required. Just drop in the EGW Box Clever script.
that's it!
Now the clever bit, well its not called the EGW Box Clever script for nothing.
Your box displays in hover text, the contents totals for each type. (the folder icon allows you to recall this anytime)
Icons for each type can be touched to display in hover text, all the item names, paged and numbered 0 to 9.
Yes, you guessed, touch a number 0 - 9 and the chosen item name is displayed. Was that the item you wanted? If so, touch the tick icon and its stored**. When you have the items you require, touch the green button and you get a folder in your inventory.
So you can now organise your boxes, fill them up and know that its easy to retrieve the things you need.
How and what you put in a box is up to you. We all organise stuff in different ways.
What we all want, is an easy way to find the things we need.
The the EGW Box Clever script, really does let you do this.
* Scripts can be stored, just make sure you set them not running, before adding the EGW Box Clever script. I had well over 500+ scripts cluttering my inventory. I now have 10 boxes, well organised and easy to retrieve.
** NO COPY items will be given one at a time when the Tick Icon is touched. I keep all my NO COPY items in separate boxes, it works well for me.
- Intuitive GUI
- No Menus
- No Chat Commands
- Retrieve boxed items fast
A good product!
For the price, you get quite a clever box! For myself, I would have liked some way of labeling the boxes in float text dynamicall so you can tell which is what when you have them all together by a glance.
Clever Box is Clever
Pretty easy to use. Dropping multiple items loads and updates pretty quickly. Easy to retrieve what you want.
It would be helpful to include a notecard with instructions (for those of us who actually read instructions, or need to be reminded) to be able to refer to rather than having to refer to the listing page.
I find the blue and purple hover text difficult to read. I appreciate that it changes when you change viewing "mode"; it just means I have to adjust the background it's being displayed on (which it not always convenient) and zoom in very close.
Otherwise, thank you!
waste of money
all it does is give you another disorganized inventory. i clicked on the shirt then a number to get a specific hair and when it gave me the option to receive the object (EGW Box Clever) it didn't just give me that hair piece......it gave me everything in my inventory i had put in the contents. this is a waste of money.
really clever
great way to storage all those boxes and unused items
You Gotta Try This!
Ok so my invent WAS a complete pigsty, i had things from literally my first few weeks strewn all over the place (and ive been in sl over 2 years!) This lil gizmo is so cool! it lets you basically store away all ya stuff in the main box which is copy so you can have as many as you need...I dont think it actually needs any instruction as its so simple to use...either drag all the stuff you wanna put in it from your invent to its contents menu OR box up your stuff and then drag your boxes into its contents....hardly rocket science! ive had this thing under 24 hrs and already my inventory content is down my over 14, 000 items! most of which is stored neatly away and is retrieveable at the click of a button. If i could give more stars i would but its a definate 5* star rating from me! THANKS ELLA you probably saved me from inventory meltdown!
not ready for prime time
It lacks a proper instruction notecard and only gives you items when it wants to. It does do a good job displaying what's in inside the box without having to open the box.
