| Quick draw shotgun
Update! (4/13/2025):
- The slung object now goes alpha when you pull out and fire the shotgun.
- Rezless damage to avatars so they don't get bumped around in RP sims.
- Full overhaul of scripts. You will now do 10 LBA damage per shot to objects within the 15m PI/10 blast. Each shot does 75 damage to avatars.
- Old version still included.
Note from the developer:
| "The Foreman" Sawed Off is classified as a quick draw weapon that works more similarly to a melee weapon, but instead firing a raycast cone in front of you in a thinner, longer area to do LL damage. Firing this weapon will also jerk you back, or if fired downward while in the air, allow you to double jump, or escape quickly from the area. The shotgun is slung on your hip until triggered, firing it from your left hand and going right back after each shot.
Instructions:
| Unpack
| Wear
| Tap C to fire

A trusty sidearm for the aspiring renegade. Also, a striking fashion accessory!
The simple Coolness(tm) of a sawed-off shotgun is very much present in this weapon, and the unique behavior compared to other SL weapons makes it great fun to use. The model is absolutely stunning, the included holstered version is greatly appreciated (even if it doesn't vanish when using the proper weapon, it's unscripted), the sounds and visuals are as good as you can really get in SL, and being able to propel yourself in the air using the weapon's recoil is just the cherry on top of an already great weapon.
Plus, in case you're using a combat system with a primary, secondary, tertiary-style slot system for weapons, this means the Foreman can fill the role of a Quaternary weapon, because you can never be /too/ prepared.
Effective Multi Use Firearm
Not for use vs object based items per say, so keep that in mind. That said it means like some shotguns used on ships, it's a good option to shoot at player based enemies without causing surrounding damage. The kick back can be used as a double or triple jump pending how many of it's 2 rounds are currently loaded.
Have a parachute or something that works like one? This shotgun just likely turned said slow fall device into one of oddly effective distance travel. More bizarrely effective for a Sky Pirate who could come across multiple situations of getting out of an aircraft mid flight and needs more travel time. Mentioning Sky Pirates, the 1930's alt history ones in airplanes like myself, often, this firearm's visual design remains relevant across a large span of time periods be it Sci Fi far flung future or various timelines of the past making use of two barrels and deathly outcome from the other end, provided it's SL damage of course.
Not something I think is set for meter combat however, which can be a draw back in the age of less than classic physical rounds, the very thing that makes it safer near explosive containers and the likes means also can't be used on such physical non player things, but can be a positive in some situations as stated earlier. The past review that the slung version doesn't vanish while use is true, and it can be noticeable. But the moment you use it is fast and that moment you have two guns is not THAT noticeable.
Over all this is a great flexible weapon for added maneuver options that also can be used as a hull / hazardous surroundings safe weapon for SL damage combat. The last of which seems much more rare these days, but you could do far worse, and it's very user safe which I'm often keeping in mind when it comes to weapons in SL. Unless you blast yourself backwards fast enough into something that hurts bad enough, but welcome to a game of especial awareness.
Very cool, almost everything I want from such a toy.
Only issue I have with it is the shotgun on the hip not vanishing during the firing animation.
Especially fun with the double-jump feature, feels like a fun mechanic for a platformer.
