Across all reaches of the world, explored or unknown, none exceed the sheer strength and quality of Dwarven craftsmanship. Items of war, decoration, opulence or beauty which, one way or another, make their way above the mystical and uncompromising womb of the world into the grasping hands of men and women are invariably treasured as richly and zealously as any artifact of legend.
Whether it's the work of a fledgling blacksmith, working with shallow-earthed ores, or the nearly divine work of a master smith hammering and melding mystic elements from the darkest depths of the mountain heart, only a Dwarf could know. Fortunately, however, not only a Dwarf can posess it, and harness it's formidable strength imbued by the proud and uncompromisingly stubborn race.
Extended customization, as with any Eldritch product, it is taken still further with this item. A unique HUD, made specifically for this item, now boasts a collapsable toggle to free up your screen, an animation overrider to keep your sword where you want to have it, and a HUD-driven draw/sheath function.
Automatic updates will be sent when they are available, and won't take nearly so long as specific forest-themed staff-based items that shall go unmentioned.
- Sleek and glorious mesh and textures, with low graphical demand
- Wealth of customization options to play with, offering extensive versatility
- Unique collapsable HUD made for THIS item, AO functionality/Draw-Sheath Control
- Intricately detailed sheath with hand drawn engravings
- Automatic updates, reference picture
A fine Weapon
Visually this weapon comes together great to go along with my Dwarf themed avatar. I'm a Mithril, Gold, and yellow gold kind of guy. Interactives were intuitive on the weapon and sheath, making it easy to customize.
I think the only downfall is the crystalline hud. While the crystal gemstone design is quite nice, the lack of labeling makes it less intuitive and more of a testing scenario. Perhaps Dwarven style art 'carvings' that depict the poses could be placed in to rectify this.
Excellent!
I really love what this artist produces. I would love to have this in a full permission so I could stick SpellFire into it and use it! x))
Would buy again :D
I bought this sword for an RP avatar and it looks stunning. Am very happy with this purchase and at that price it is great.
Pro: Customization is awesome, Design is good, 2 sheathed poses + drawn (one on back, one at the side)
Neg: The HUD for the drawn version is a bit tricky and not that easy to understand
Great Weapon with Great Customer Service!
I recently purchased this weapon with the intent of throwing it on the back of a 7Plus Bunny. It. Fits. Perfectly! I highly recommend this weapon for everyone! There was a slight issue however with what I assumed the weapon, but it appeared to be some grieffers in a Sandbox sim. The maker of this sword was quite happy to help me out with my issue! 10/10 Would shop again.
Beautiful, with limitations
I have two Eldritch products and have seen many more, and without exception they are all superbly designed. Not only in terms of how they're made, but also the initial image of them. This one in particular reminds me of the Precursors from Assassin's Creed in the way that it's alien and otherworldly - precisely what I was looking for.
That said, it also has the same limitations of Eldritch. The HUD is a little clumsy, often losing buttons somewhere between collapsing and opening, and you have to draw and sheath for both the sheath and the drawn version separately.
The animations aren't labelled, which makes finding the one you want the act of a few seconds of scrambling, especially if you've lost one of those buttons already. And the animations themselves - there's a great disparity between them, largely focused on the fact that some are confined to the arms, meaning it's just holding the sword where you want while your own AO does the work, while others override the whole body. This isn't bad in its own right, but the full body override animations are a little weak, and the difference in quality between the mesh creation and the animations is noticeable.
This shouldn't stop you from buying it by any means, however. Animations are a secondary concern in a roleplay prop and this far exceeds the vast majority of items on the market in design.
I am also hopeful that the creator will produce more in similar style - I am PARTICULARLY keen in my hopes that she will produce a mask in the same style. I am unsure whether she accepts commissions, but should I discover the answer I may well pursue this avenue.
No better steel
This is a fantastic piece but not for any one reason alone. The texture work is good with striking details. The hud takes some getting used too simply because it’s not readily apparent what button does what but the fact it has AO built in means no more stabbing yourself in the face with the weapon in your hand thanks to your AO.
I owned this sword less than a day and got a tone of compliments on it. The biggest thing is this is a unique item, no other sword looks like it, and so this thing stands out, and if you love dwarves at all this is a must have. I want to thank Eldritch for supporting off color races such as orcs and dwarves and giving us nice things like all the other races.
If there was one thing I would change it would simply be that I'd like to see axes, maces and hammers done in a similar style.
