GREETER v13.09
Greeter is a FIRESTORM only tool for hosts and DJs that allow you to do a variety of tasks:
(1) Send IMs to individuals as they enter range
(2) Send local messages (say or shout) as the enter range.
(3) Show a message for the owner in local chat.
(4) Show a dialog box to you as they enter range. This allows you to see who comes and goes without monitoring local chat.
(5) Send welcome back messages to avatars who left then returned since you turned on the greeter
(6) Keep a log of who entered and left the range and when
(7) Prevent unwanted TP requests while DJing or HOSTing, or at other times
(8) Automatically turns of CHAT and IM messages when you leave the parcel.
In the above description, I talk about range. The RANGE is the radar range for the script. It can be any distance you want, but I usually keep it at one of three values, 20m, 64m or 108m. At 64m, that indicates they were either TPed into range, where here when they logged in or they walked into range. Which is all an interest. These are the people you want to track.
To set the range in FIRESTORM, open the PEOPLE dialog and set the Range(m) slider to the appropriate distance. The PEOPLE dlalog is one of the toolbox items if you don't already have it set. In the setup ICON (lower left), check on:
(1) Report Enter Alerts to Scripts
(2) Report Exit Alerts to Scripts
ENTER ALERTS is how the GREETER knows people have come into range. EXIT ALERTS is how the GREETER knows they have left.
