Details

Here is a dramatic 3 piece set of neoclassical style upholstered furniture, including sofa and chaise that will seat 2, and an armchair that will seat 1. The regency style was popular in the late 1700s and early 1800s in Europe and England. French neoclassical furniture is described in three phases of styles namely, Louis XVI style, Directoire style and Empire style. Ebonized wood with inlaid wood marquetry designs typify this style.

The upholstery is sumptuous silk satin in 10 brilliant colors, which are included. The wooden portions are ebonized with gilt and burled sherry accents, carved in the shape of a winged and scaled creature - a dolphin or dragon or flying fish. These pieces will work in many different settings: sitting room, bedroom, study, hallway - anywhere you'd like to provide a fancy place for people to sit.

Each piece is 1 LI, for a total of 3 LI for the set. The pieces have copy and modify permissions but are not transferable (and can't be returned for a refund - please see our Store Policies). Scripts are not modifiable.

Our furniture is designed so that you can use it without reading a bunch of notecards:

- when you are not sitting on it, you can click the furniture to change the textures (if you are the owner and you are using our textures rather than your own.)

- anyone who sits on the furniture can click the furniture to choose their pose and fine tune their position while sitting. If there is one person sitting, they are offered a choice of 8 of single poses. If a second person is sitting, then both people are offered 8 PG couples poses, in addition to the single poses.

- while sitting on the furniture, the owner can click the furniture to change the starting positions when people it on the furniture.

Chairs will accommodate 1 person, while sofas etc. will accommodate 2 people.

TEXTURE CHOICES:

If your furniture comes with texture choices (and most of our upholstered furniture does) then the owner can see all the choices by clicking the furniture when you are not sitting on it. To select a texture, just stop clicking when the one you want is showing.

You can also use your own upholstery textures - just drag your texture onto the upholstered parts of the furniture.

Non upholstered parts (wood and trim) of the furniture are less easy to use your own textures on - for the most part, these have been set up to map onto furniture images, and will probably not look good if you use another texture. You can try - but there is no guarantee it will look good.

ANIMATIONS

All of the poses - both single and couples - used in our furniture were made for our furniture. The poses all have the same animation offsets and that is built into the sit scripts on the furniture. This is why you only need to adjust your avatar position once and it will apply to all of the animation choices, in our animation system.

You can use your own animation systems - just delete everything in the furniture Content (EXCEPT the "_textures" script if you want to be able to use our texture system) and then add your own animation scripts and animations.

Mesh avatars using the same rigging as the SL avatar should work with these poses. Avatars using deformed rigging (e.g. tinies) will probably not work.

RESCALING

You can rescale the furniture - if you increase the size, the LI on mesh items will go up. If you decrease the size, the LI will probably stay the same. If you rescale, you will probably then need to adjust the starting positions where people sit, using the Setup command.

ABOUT ANTIQUE ARTISTRY
-----

Antique Artistry was formed in 2006 by two long-time SL creators, Poppet McGimsie and Fatima Ur, who have created literally thousands of SL objects, animations, scripts, textures and soundscapes.

Poppet has been making antique furniture all along, including texturing, mesh modeling, scripting and animations. The pieces we offer have often been developed over the last decade, starting even before sculpted prims were possible. The challenge is always to create something that is beautiful, realistic, well-crafted, and low prim.

We are able to offer items here on the Marketplace at a great savings, since we no longer need to spend thousands of dollars per month paying tier. These items are offered at a savings of hundreds of Lindens over what they would cost in our in world stores and are of the same high quality and workmanship as you will find being sold by others at a much higher cost.
