The Ithaca M37 has been in production since 1937 and is one of the most popular pump action shotgun designs in the world. Due to it's relatively cheap price because of its simple design and the fact it's proven, rugged, and reliable, the Ithaca M37 can be found in the hands of many police departments as well as civilians and military forces. The shotgun was used extensively by US soldiers during the Vietnam War to hit targets through thick jungle brush and many CIA-backed SOG and MACV units often cut their M37s down to extremely short lengths to make them lighter and more manueverable. The Ithaca M37 is still produced and in use today, it's main user outside of the US Army is the Los Angeles Police Department.
