This Larsson "First To Fish" Aluminum Boat Version 4.0 released on March 22, 2024 with cruise control, a new operator looped animation, and wearable binoculars to use with a new animation where you stand and scan horizon with binoculars. Also included is my new dark green fishing cap.
Boat has design of classic aluminum fishing boats: 5.3 meters long, 1.7 meters wide and 0.85 meters high. Land weight is 34. You can adjust with my rescale script.
The outboard motor turns as you steer. I made operator animation specially for this boat and you sit in back seat looking forward with left hand on the boat side and right hand on outboard motor control.
Inside boat are several decor items: emergency paddle, safety throw ring, a coil of rope, a handy pack with food or fishing supplies or beverages (whatever you might imagine needing), a fishing pole, a gas can, and of course two comfortable seat cushions.
I set it up for two people, operator and one passenger on middle seat.
There are ten animated poses for operator. These include hand steering the outboard while looking ahead, knees up sitting in stern seat, day dream sitting in stern seat, standing to fish to starboard, standing to fish to port, standing to fish facing bow, and stand to fish facing stern (yes it you can have fun trolling with this boat), reclining relaxed sit, and animation to lift gas can and fill outboard motor. Tenth animated pose is a folding aluminum chair stowed on port side near bow. Key "chair" and chair appears just in front of stern seat and operator sits in chair relaxing with feet up on middle seat. This is ideal position for an extended fishing session. Key "stow" and operator returns to stern seat and chair is folded and stowed away. New animation is scanning with binoculars.
If you own one of fishing games you can use them too.
Passenger has five animation poses: sit facing bow, standing to fish to starboard, standing to fish to boat, and standing ontop of the bow seat to fish in front of boat.
You select poses anytime from menu and adjust them using AV Sitter menu.
There are eight speeds selected with page up and down keys. Range is 2 to 16 on SL speed scale giving good range of speeds from slow trolling to zippy. When you change speeds you see private chat message telling speed you selected.
Activate cruise control and your selected speed by keying "hold" or "release" in public or private chat. You will see confirmation message when you hold or release this control.
Steer with direction keys or screen motion arrows. Outboard motor will turn in with motion arrows and return to center when you select forward or reverse.
When you sit to drive you will hear outboard start sound that changes quickly to idle sound. When you move in water motor sound changes to motor board underway sound and you see a white stream of propeller turbulence follow and turn with boat. Propeller only spins when you are underway. There is also a bit of water turbulence on either side of stern when you move boat.
You can stop motor if you wish to quietly fish or relax somewhere. Key "/3stop" to send private chat message to stop and key "/3start" to resume your voyage. You will see private chat messages confirming stop and start. You will notice outboard motor lift up when you stop and lower back into water when you start up again.
If you feel need to add gas, key "fill tank" in chat or private chat and your avatar will appear to take gas tank from near transom to appear to fill motor with gas and then sit back down replacing tank on boat.
Notice anchor at bow. Touch anchor to activate particle rope line so it appears and becomes ready for use. You will notice particle rope attach itself to anchor. When ready to use anchor say "down" in chat or /3 private chat and anchor will be lowered into water below boat. Anchor moves down several meters below water level while particle rope gives natural appearance of boat attached to anchor. This method seems more natural than using an inflexible prim or mesh rope line. Say "up" to move anchor up into original position while rope follows upward with anchor. Once activated, rope is ready to use repeatedly during your journey.
Key "/3b" in chat to send private command to boat for "Beep Beep" horn sound when needed.
You see view from just behind stern when you sit. However I recommend using my nicely designed set of six "follower views" that gracefully follow along. Key view commands in chat or /3 chat to use (for example just v1 with no quotes): "v1" is behind and above stern, "v2" is behind and just over back of motor, "v3" is operators eye view, "v4" is midway near bow, "v5" is scenic elevated view behind looking downward on boat and nearby waters, and "v6" is similar but a bit more scenic.
