Good. But not what I expect from DSD
Its a good avatar, but honestly? The permanent plantigrade legs really threw me. I was planning on using the Avatar for a rat morph as the head is the most rodent-looking head I've ever found in SL and the colors matched a character of mine perfectly... Buuuut I've had to go hunting for far more parts then I figured I would.
I've only bought two other DSD, (Deer and Shepherd) but they both came with absolute piles of pieces, tons of accessories, plantigrade, digitigrade, deer has little mini mods built in and alt skins for other species with alternate horns and all sorts of neat things (it lacked a plantigrade option. But honestly its a hoofed mammal. Hard to go plantigrade with hooves without it looking bizarre)
In comparison, the Squirrel was just..empty?
This isn't to say its not fantastic. The quality is great, it comes with maps, alphas, etcetera and every tool under the sun needed to mod the thing. Things like cheek fluff/ear fluff and instantly removable. The HUD is superior to the one I was used to on my deer... and while I think the base proportions are a bit wonky, nothing that a little tweaking doesn't fix. Its a good looking avatar. I was just taken by surprise at how little came with it.
Very nice, but has minor flaws.
Textures are beautifully done and altogether nicely put together.
But there are a couple faults I found that sort of put me off about the ave.
The mesh legs are a nice touch, but make them impossible to wear if you want to make your squirrel have more leg muscle mass or a fatter body shape since you can see the leg thickness swell over where the mesh leg begins.
So I thought I would try to fix it using the unrigged legs, but it's the same issue. Re sizing them only makes the legs look super huge and disproportional, so I didn't use them.
So I now have to use the cut legs option, but they don't match right with the lower leg texture. The lower legs on the skin are basically just the grey color without any shading or fur design, so look awkward when you are wearing the cut legs that have fur detail and shading.
Basically, this avatar works for you if you want to keep it small and thin ... but you will have issues if you want a thicker or muscular squirrel.
