[GL] Sculpty Necklaces

I wanted to take the time to give this package the review it deserves. This package is excellent for what it's intended for, sculpted necklace shapes. It's NOT a chain, and never has been marketed as a chain. I've watched this package for awhile, before and since, buying. Think the poular slider necklaces, thin wire type. If you make sure you're buying what you THINK you are you will be extremely pleased with this package. The parts are VERY well made, versatile and a great tool for those that don't know how or can't take the time to learn to sculpt (me included :o))

Texturing knowledge isn't included in this package so you'll have to have some of that on your own :o) If you have decent building/linking knowledge you'll find this package easy to work with and if you're needing some great wire forms for necklace bases, along with linking components, this is perfect for you.

I wish everyone would rate things based on what they ARE, not what their expectations of the product were. Five stars to Ghanie for effort, creativity, craftsmanship. I can tell that Ghanie put a lot of work in this and cares about how their items are made/viewed/used. That speaks volumes to me.

I love love love these sculpties - actually, all of the sculpties I've gotten from her so far! The necklace shapes are very versatile and fit nicely against the avatar - the nanoprim links with the set are very clean and great to work with :)

This is a brilliant idea. I was very excited to purchase it. I anticipated making my own textures so as to make lovely, fine gold chains.

However, there are two problems.

1. Textures DO NOT apply properly to these sculpts. Wrangling with them allowed me to achieve something similar to my intended purpose, but it wasn't good enough. And worse...

2. There's a large hole in the front of every sculpt. One side is flat, the other pointed - like a bent nail. This definitely doesn't show in the pictures up there! it makes the objects totally useless for my intended purchase, as not only do I have to overlap pieces, but I have to fight with texture overlap as well.

All in all, fine for leather perhaps, but useless for the purpose which I had anticipated. A shame really, as the shape is very good, and they would be wonderful if they actually worked.

As an update, the creator sent me a script which fixes the problem of the opening in the front.

However, this doesn't fix the texture problem. It's a good effort! Great for ribbons, cords, and so on - not good for making tiny chains for necklaces.
