** GREETER SCRIPT by TInCan v2.1 **
This script automatically send a Welcome message of your choice to visitors who enter your place or your club.
It can also send an optional *Welcome Back* message of your choice when someone leave the place and come back within the next hour after leaving.
→ Welcome messages can be either said via IM to users or in Local Chat.
→ The detection can be chosen between *Chat Range* (<20m), *Shout Range* (<100m), *Whisper Range* (<10m), or Region (in case of IM messages).
→ The greeter script can also give one item like object, note card or landmark for example. Please note that object must have permission set to Copy to be given by the script.
→ You can easily set it up for your Club, or also wear it in an attached object (as for hosting).
*** INSTALLATION ***
STEP 1: Rezz your prim, or choose the desired object to put the script in **NB: YOUR OBJECT MUST BE EMPTY, ELSE IT WORKS AS A GIVER** (See step 3)
STEP 2: Give a NAME to your object (in Edit box > General > Name). This is important because the name appears in the chat as the sender of the message .
STEP 3: (optional) Put object or note card to give by the script if you want so.
STEP 4: Copy the GREETER SCRIPT in your prim. A Text Box will show up asking you to enter the Welcome message that you want.
You can enter for example something like this, where the keyword _name_ with underscores is used to indicate the place where the visitor's name should appear in the message. Here's an example:
Hello _name_! Welcome to Bananas Club!
After submitting the welcome message, another Dialog Box will show up asking you to select IM or Local Chat, then the range of your choice (Chat Range, Shout Range, Whisper<10m or Region).
Then a last Text Box will ask you to enter your Welcome Back message for your visitors (for example: Welcome Back _name_!). Keep it blank if not used. Please note that welcome back messages will never be shouted, only said or whispered.
A message in local chat will say if your prim contains an object to give, and will confirm that the script is ready to use.
At any moment, you can reset the script and re-configure it by typing "/43 reset"

Easy to use even for a non-specialist like me, does exactly what it says and is very cheap *****
A few issues
Sure this is cheap - well it is a script one can get freely off LSL however there are two problems
1/ when you use it as a greeter, it greets everyone, even staff so that was useless to me.
2/ The writing is green so it is clearly not as if i am typing it, again useless to me .
3/ No mod to change these issues, so useless to me
4/ It welcome backed people who only moved out of chat range and back in, which was annoying
I am sure it will help a lot of other people but sadly not for me

Figure out the object you want to use to greet people with... drop the script into the object.
Follow the instructions in the dialogue boxes, and voila! done.
Really, are you kidding me.. L$5... so easy, even a caveman do it...

Only 5L? Great little script that has a simple, easy-to-use menu-driven interface. Although it is "no copy," at this low price I bought several extras to have on hand. This is a big time saver.
