Two options included - less shine or plenty of shine.
Choose the one you like and add the applier AFTER you're DONE applicating the desired FURCOAT.
Advanced Lighting Model enabled is required to see the changes this applier does.

An Essential Tool!
Thanks for this basic, but very important, applier HUD. I used it frequently, and depending on the effects I'm trying to achieve, it usually works without needing to edit via build. Lotsa Shine's a great time saver that does most shine adjustments efficiently.
Too Bad.
I have the [Teegle] "Emperador" the Andalusian Horse and this does NOT work on it. Does not matter if you "add", "wear" or rez it on the ground. The "less shinny" did have inside the applier box a gray "Dapple Dark skin applier" however, so yeah on a basically free skin that I didn't want. LOL
