Grand Caravan Versión 2.1

The model is beautiful. Pretty much everything on this is actually modeled. Even things like the circuit breaker buttons are 3D.

Not only is it detailed, but everything that should move does. Every door on this aircraft works from the entry doors to the door on the glove box. Every switch and lever that activates any function of the aircraft actually can be clicked to work that function. It has a working instrument panel that is more than enough to fly in mouselook easily.

Flight behavior is top notch. It's stable in the air, auto levels well, and holds course and pitch on sim crossings. It crosses sims smoothly and predictably even with passengers. Plan on using reverse thrust after you touch down most place, this plane has a fair amount of inertia and you will coast along at much higher speeds than you want for turning off on the taxiway. The water landing behavior is just as good as everything else. It's not easy to get right and this one is

The HUD is well done other than the compass using the avatar camera rather than the aircraft and the continuing lack of an artificial horizon. This really should be included.

Engine sound is good if maybe slightly high in pitch. It does change pitch based on throttle setting.

Now for the really amazing thing. It's sold as a Grand Caravan, but it actually can be configured as any of the 4 models of Caravan Cessna sells. The basic Caravan with no underbelly pod, the Grand Caravan which has it, the Cargomaster which has no seats, and the Amphibibious Caravan. You can also have floats on the cargo version if you wish. If that weren't cool enough, you also get a skydiver version with the clear roll door. Select the jumper and they move to the door holding the outside grip bar and then drop away with a scream. It offers a chute for those who don't have their own.

I wish I could give more stars. This will certainly be the one I recommend when people ask which plane they should get. Great Job!

I have lots of RL hours in the Grand Caravan, and I enjoy flying this one in SL a lot... Quite realistic behaviour, great sim crossing as well... The only little thing that costed my rating one star, is that I would add some "wavelets rocking" when the plane is on the water, that would have added some more realism. Other than that, the Grand Caravan is another great one from Dani I will have a lot of pleasure flying in SL, one of the best SL airplanes/seaplane, in SL so far...

Not only does the plane fly beautifully and crosses easily even with a full load of passengers, it is so detailed and comes with so many options! It is like getting four planes and one and for such a great price! I highly recommend it for a passenger aircraft and a great cargo plane that leaves you with so many options to be so creative. I highly recommend this plane for anyone looking for a seaplane as well as they all around small passenger plane.

I know a bunch of us have been nagging Dani to make a seaplane for a while. Well, it was well worth the wait. He started with an epic RL plane and brought into SL, turning it into the best seaplane in SL. This really surpasses anything else by far and sets a new standard. It flies beautifully, crosses sims as we expect Dani planes to - like a hot knife through butter - and can hold ten people (two crew and eight passengers), so it's what the growing SL airline market *needs* right now. Very cool, Dani and Bia - way to go. =)
