GridTalkie is a grid-wide text radio system that lets you connect to your group or friends anywhere on the grid. It's more flexible and reliable than built-in IM conferencing and it's more direct than using an external IM app. Works grid-wide with 10,000 channels, anywhere you can run scripts.
With GridTalkie, you transmit and receive messages through your chat bar and chat history.
Rattling off a message from the chat-bar is faster than using built-in tabs and windows, and allows
you to still see the world and maintain situational awareness.
This system has been in operation for many years with about 99% reliability. It's in use by serious role-playing organizations such as Air Traffic Control, SL Coast Guard, SL Flying Tigers, and dozens of City RP Police, Fire, and Medical services. It has thousands of registered users and dozens of active secured groups using it as an alternative to group IM.

Has promise
Back when I bought this in 2022 it was as I was told still being used, but not as much as it used to be than from 2023 on there rarely is traffic other than the weather which says is recorded. The SLCG looks to be using group now primarily and I am guessing fire departments and such are using groups as well. This all is sad because these can be a lot of fun and they used to be for many years as I been told. I hope the activity picks up on these again soon now in 2024.
really nice
got into SL aviation, found out that the emergency transponders get relayed into the emergency channels, and some airports even have ATC bots.
minimal setup needed, no servers for you to config just slap it on and pick channels
for 299L I really can't recommend one harder
