The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft developed to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in United States Navy (USN) service. Although the F6F resembled the Wildcat, it was a completely new design powered by a 2,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800. Some tagged it as the "Wildcat's big brother". The Hellcat and the Vought F4U Corsair were the primary USN fighters during the second half of World War II.
The Hellcat was the first USN fighter designed in view of lessons from combat with the Japanese Zero. The Hellcat was credited with destroying 5,271 aircraft while in service with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps (5,163 in the Pacific and eight more during the invasion of Southern France, plus 52 with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm during World War II), which was more than any other Allied aircraft. Postwar, the Hellcat was phased out of front line service, but remained in service as late as 1954 as a night fighter.

The Hellcat comes with both VICE and TCS giving it 100 HP and 10 HP for the respective systems. It is also armed with two types of VICE ordinance, five inch rockets and 500 lbs bombs.

This F6F is powered by the Laminar Flight engine, a powerful and highly advanced flight script developed the duration of over two years of work and dedication. It started in our Piper Cherokee and we have reached to set the bar high once again with the first of out combat line. Our Piper demonstrated the casual easy side of the engine while the Hellcat, with its raw speed and power will demonstrate the aggressive side. a fun plane to fly and rather easy too
Flies like the real thing
Like the real Hellcat, it decelerates a lot on climbs, and accelerates a lot on dives. Makes it kind of a pain to land, especially given the short runways most SL airports have! Since it has a separately implemented rudder, though, it can do maneuvers like knife-edge passes using only engine thrust to keep it up, and the flight engine lets it do things like hammerhead turns-- very unique for a SL plane, and something that always turns heads when I'm flying. Missing torque roll, hopefully a later version of this engine includes that feature! Also, I wish it had a HUD and flaps (for landing). Those two omissions have me knocking off a star, but other than that I love this plane.
Great and realistic plane
This is a great plane with, realistic flight characteristics and features. Unlike other planes out there this one needs higher throttle speed for lift off and to maintain flight but it rate of speed is slow enough that you wont be racing through Sims as you would with most other SL planes going at the same speed unless you go full throttle though I have yet to try flying it at 100% throttle. Also fact that you get 4 planes with different Livery and combine that with its group or guest options the price is a steal for anyone wanting to make their own hellcat squadron or fleet.

It looks wonderfull of all ellse but some of the flying has its kinks... turns too fast and flips too easily

Its a great plane youll love it, may seem weird at first to fly but thats cause its a dynamic flight core, fun to play with even more fun to blow you're friends up in >:D that means you Thade wolf and retoma!
