Intro:

Grunge room is a new series of creations in the form of small prefabs that plug together or at your own constructions.
I take my inspiration directly into the world of Silent Hill, where vintage meets rust and dust. You can also find several allusions hidden in these creations.
For now the prefabs are made of prims and sculpties only but future versions will include low poly meshes. And the use of a compatible viewer will be required (not in this case)

The Toilets:

I propose you these toilets in particular style.
It's not really the kind of place where you'd like to linger and the atmosphere is rather disturbing.

List of functions:

- Handmade textures artwork with Photoshop (no 3D program)
- Mirror effect with room symmetry
- Trash cans with flies particles and sounds (on / off button)
- Waterpipes with sounds (loop)
- Urinals with sounds (on click)
- Scripted door (open / close) with sound (on click)
- Neon light with sound (loop)

The outside is not textured (all black) to give you the freedom to include the creation in the decor of your choice.
The number of prims is 78 and it is linked in one object, you just have to rez it on the ground.

High prims but great materials

im not really sure what this other person is talking about i have a mesh avi..and i fit in this thing perfectly.. its not too big for "giants" its a perfect height and great texturing and i would have to say for 78 prims and the great texturing for 1 linden no one really has any room to complain tbh...i love it will be shard with friends of mine that are into the RLV horror scene THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GREAT PRODUCT hopefully you will make more grudge scenes in the future <3 ^_^

Looks good, but there's room for improvement. I know it's 1 prim and an old pre-mesh build but I'm still going to offer some constructive criticism since no one in SL talks about optimization.

First, the contents of the prims are all no-copy. This means that once the room is rezzed, it's essentially no-copy unless you track down and delete all of the no-copy contents. Fixed by making all of the contents copyable.

Second, the build is comprised of a LOT of 0.010 prims, meaning it can not be resized smaller without tracking down all of these prims and adjusting them individually.
Why is that a problem? Well, the bathroom is too large, made for giants. Yes, I know that's typical of SL but customers concerned with space will be put off. Fixed by making sure that, at it's base size, no object you create has a prim smaller than 0.020 on any side.

The shadow textures are way too large. Why use 512x512 for a shadow texture when 64x64 looks exactly the same? Texture bloat is the leading cause of performance issues in SL. Certainly not the only problem, but definitely one of the biggest. Always use the smallest textures you can get away with.

Those shadows could have been baked right onto the wall textures. Getting rid of the 2 shadow textures and instead adding 2 wall textures would have kept the texture count the same but allowed you to cut out all of the shadow prims entirely.

Speaking of cutting prims, using only what was possible pre-mesh you could reduce the prim count from 78 down to 59. Now you could reduce that further by separating the sculpts from the regular prims and setting the regular prims to "Convex Hull" physics for 53 prims. On top of that, the pipes for all four toilets could be reduced to 2 sculpted prims (and you could probably lose the one in the mirror side without anyone noticing. Speaking of, the handles on the trash cans on the mirror side could be cut without anyone noticing to reduce two more prims down to 40.
