The counter is a device that:
<>Counts all the seconds you wear it (it goes as far as 270 years, if you survive that much)
<>Counts all seconds since your login (up to 27 years of continous function)
<>Counts how many times you login or detach-attach the device (up to 10,000,000 times).
<>So, it is made to survive more then you do. If somehow you can resist that long, it has an alarm but I don't think you will get that far.
