Haunted Castle (Gothwaite)

Ghosts have taken up residence in Gothwaite Castle and are waiting for you to move in!

From the moment you walk in, "foolish mortals" are greeted by a frightening voice. Ghosts of the past frequent the Great Room and dance to music from another era, while tapestries on the walls change from beautiful to morbid. A cauldron sits in an alcove to one side. Don’t get too close or dinner might try to climb out and eat you. The other alcove in the Great Room seems to have been walled in for some reason with the words, “Help me” inscribed on it.

Those who brave the stairway to the second floor will soon find they are not alone. A Ghostly candelabra accompanies any who dare to venture up or down the stairs.

The walls of the second floor are decorated with murals of elegant people who turn horrific if you are observant. Even the mirrors seem to reflect ghosts and ghouls. Up here a Haunting Portrait can also be found. Upon approaching the portrait the image changes, a scream is heard, and soon the picture comes alive and haunts whoever awakens the ghost of the murdered woman from the portrait. In another room, a skull in a pedestal seems to forever have it's gaze on you, watching your every move.

On your way to the third and final floor, you get the feeling that, “someone has been expecting you.” Bloody footprints and a meat cleaver clutter the tight stairwell which allows you to ascend to the third floor and roof. There’s a treasure chest somewhere in the castle, rumored to belong to a Pirate once. An oddly placed coffin rests on the upper part of the roof. It is slightly ajar. Is someone trying to get out? Bats can be seen from the rooftop, fluttering off into the night sky.
