Eleanor of Toledo (Italian: Eleonora di Toledo (1522 – 17 December 1562), born Doña Leonor Álvarez de Toledo y Osorio, was a Spanish noblewoman who was Duchess of Florence from 1539. She is credited with being the first modern first lady, or consort. She served as regent of Florence during the absence of her spouse.
The gown comes from a painting by Bronzino in 1545. It's considered the first state portrait to depict a ruler's wife with his heir. The picture was intended to demonstrate the wealth, domesticity and continuity of the Medici. A much repeated myth tells this dress served as her shroud. However, newer research has examined her funeral dress and found it to be another.

This is by far my favorite dress I have ever owned in SL!
When I wear this dress, I feel like royalty, the word "empress" comes to mind lol! But this dress is just so beautiful and elaborate! I don't own or go to any medieval sims really in SL, other than stores, but that's really it, I do however own a modern day neighborhood family RP sim in the region Ogygia, I can often be found walking down the street in this dress or sitting in my office in town hall wearing this. When I bought this dress, I was highly skeptical of buying it because, the picture really doesn't do it justice. I had the money to spare, and if the dress was bad, to waste, but it was money very very VERY well spent! If you are ever in doubt about this dress or any of the other HoA dresses, shoot me an IM, I have a LOT of them and might be able to model one for you! But this dress, it just surpasses all and makes someone feel very . . . royally : ) Keep 'em comin Alisha!
