For now LSL scripts can not listen directly to IM, and therefore can not translate Instant Messages. However Q-Translator provides three different tools to handle private translated conversation
1. Private channels: to translate IMs using copy/paste
2. Private messages: an alternative ways to send private messages to anyone within same SIM, you can engage a both side translated conversation (even only you has Q-Translator)
3. Messenger: a working solution to have equivalent of translated IM. Q-Messenger is a communication system to have private translated conversation with someone anywhere on SL Grid. Look at the video.
Fully works in no-script area
If you attach your HUD in a script area and you move into an no-script area Q-Translator will continue to operate. Now the HUD interface will also work as you were in a normal script area.

It doesn't work well
It only translates one sentence, if the text is complex it doesn't translate and it only translates what it wants, I play RP and I have had losses with this translator, it is very expensive and in practice it is not worth it.
The best translator so far
I don't understand those haters who give 1- and 2-star reviews and the like... In my opinion, it's a pretty decent and good translator. It has some errors at times, but that happens with ALL translators in SL...
In my opinion, it's well worth purchasing since it has many features for both roleplayers and for translating objects you find anywhere, and many more things and details that will surely be useful to you at some point.
I've been using this for years with my family in SL, and I can assure you that it has always saved me from many situations, in addition to giving me the ability to communicate with anyone, regardless of their language.
I'll repeat this, either it will be perfect, it will have errors at some point... but for the most part it will be effective, especially if you configure it to Bing... I've noticed that Google's Motos fails more and its translation is worse. I would recommend facilitating or prioritizing the Bing engine, for the rest it's fine for me.

Lo he probado por casi un año, es bueno, pero es mas popularidad. A veces no funciona o no traduce bien, y falta mensajería privada, agradeceria una actualización

Just took a star off because if you make typo errors the translation comes out very wonky.
I guess the solution would be a touch of AI to correct this but maybe I'm just being fussy :)
