Thank you for your interest in Kheph's "Alien Blaster" Shooting Arcade!
This midway-style game machine costs your land less than 50 prims. It comes in one piece (plus the gun-giver barrel). Its size is 10x5m, so you can fit two of them back-to-back on a 10x10 parcel.
-------------------------------------
NOTE: This machine is for you to buy (mod/copy). I should soon have a rent-able version as well.
-------------------------------------
This machine is themed for Aliens and Space, with a slight 30's-40's Sci-Fi twist.
Up to 4 Players at a time. (Players CAN join into games already in progress.)
This machine can be set to Free Play, or Pay to Play from its config menu. If you set it for Pay, you set any price you wish.
There are three Targets that slide across the background of the machine: A satellite, UFO/Saucer and Alien Creep-Crawly. Each one makes a bell-sound when hit.
There are five Targets that pop up from behind the stone wall: Three "Gray" Aliens, and two innocent bystanders (or Men in Black). The Aliens make death sounds when hit. If you shoot the Men in Black, you not only lose points, but the victim screams while he disintigrates in a green haze.
All targets are temp-on-rez. They do not take up prims from your land, and they vanish after 60 seconds, no matter what.
The scripted Blaster-rifle works ONLY with the machine. There are no projectiles, particles or animations: the gun simply makes a Laser-fire sound when fired during gameplay. The player is animated by the pose-ball he/she stands on during gameplay. Thus, there is no way for the gun to be used elsewhere in your sim (or anywhere) for griefing!
Plus, the Blaster-rifle is not necessary to the game at all. This game works by clicking on the targets, in or out of mouselook.
There are six levels- each lasting 60 seconds. At each level-up, the machine plays a "Power Up" sound and changes the background image. The targets then either rez out in greater number, move faster, or both.
The machine can be set to give a prize. You include as many of your own prizes as you wish (make sure they are set to copy!). Just Edit the machine, and add your prizes to the contents. Then set the machine to give a prize in the config menu. At game-over, the machine will give a random prize to the winner.
The machine keeps the top-5 high scores, and dispalys them between games.
The machine plays both welcome and goodbye music. It also plays its welcome music every five minutes as an attention-grabber. You can turn the attention-music off or on from the config menu.
The config menu allows you to set the machine to give a prize, turn on or off the attention-music, set the machine to charge lindens to play, reset a game-in-progress, clear the high-score leaderboard or reboot the entire machine.
Modifiable: You can change the textures on the targets or the machine itself as you wish. However, read these important notes:
-You can change the background images anytime you want. Just Edit the machine and select "Edit Linked Parts" from the Edit window. Then click on the rear wall of the machine. You will see in the contents the texture files used for the changing backgrounds. You can remove these and add up to six of your own. Or, you can add up to three new textures along with the existing ones.
-You can change the images on the Targets. Inside each Target Rezzer you will find the Targets (three or four in each Rezzer). Take the Targets into your inventory, then rez them out. As you rez each one, MAKE SURE to Edit it and UNCHECK the Temporary box! (Otherwise the Target will vanish in 60 seconds!)
-Texture Prelaoding: If you Edit the machine and look at the background, you will notice a few oddly-shaped prims right in the middle of the background. They are invisible. In your Edit window, select "Edit Linked Parrts." Then, holding down your shift key, select all five of the invisible prims. Then go to the Texture Tab of your Edit window and you will see they have a transparency setting of 100. Change that to 0, and you will be able to see the prims.
Each one has three faces that point forward - and each face has a texture on it. These are the textures of the targets, ghosts, backgrounds and anything else that needs to pre-load to avoid grey textures. If you modify your game- such as changing the targets or backgrounds- you will want to put your textures on the faces of these prims. When you are done, just touch each prim to make it invisible again.
NOTE: Sorry, but the sounds cannot currently be changed. So you're stuck with Alien sounds on this one. I will be making other versions of this game for you to choose from, and Ii'll look into making a kit for you to make your own in the future.
Setting Up and Using the Game Machine:
S
Terrible!
Don't waste your money!!!!!
It doesn't give you a gun. It only rezzes them on the left hand side. You can see the others but they don't move or pop up. (Screenshot : https://gyazo.com/a46661011e07d5f6980423038d916e82 )
It doesn't give the player any instructions. Music only comes on when the background changes
A old fashioned shooter arcade works better,
