KinEx - Texture Organizer V2
So this is V2? does that mean new features??
New Features and more new Features!
In fact, i've nearly doubled the features of the previous version, even adding scripts that allow you to use textures in the organizer without taking the texture to inventory!
Then there's the networking, which allows you to have 2, or 200 organizers rezzed, and all of them can transfer between each other just as if you were performing the transfer on one organizer!
Also, the organizer now supports NO-MOD Textures and Sculpts. No longer will you have to curse at creators (or me!) for not releasing No-Mod textures!
Oh, and have i mentioned Expandable Categories yet? no.. i don't think i did.. WELL! Let me tell you.. One of the pains with the old/other organizers, is the limited number of Categories!. So i've gone ahead and solved this little problem, with Auto-Expanding categories, all the way to 168 possible categories! And if that's not enought to hold your mother of all texture collections. Just rezz another organizer, They're networked! So why not have a dozen 168 category organizers! (overkill, i know right? Better to have the option though!)
Do you work in a group building environment, and find yourself needing to transfer textures/sculpts to your partner? Well now, i've enhanced the old Category Package with a script!, simply create the Category Package, give it to your partner, and they'll be able to simply Click the package and transfer its contents straight into one of their categories! No transfers to inventory, no mess.

Unlike other organizers with the Click and Hold method, to get your menus with the K-TO, simply double click. Although all the common use parts of the system are not menu based, eliminating any slow downs. This system is designed for fast easy browsing, while still boasting all the features you'd expect from a top-level organizer.
With the permission system, you're able to set access up for the active group, the userlist (which is stored in a notecard), Public Access, and then retrieval. When Public mode is enabled and Retrieval is disabled, public users can only view textures or sculpties, not take them. They are also unable to make any changes to the organizer. In order to protect you from a drive-by deletion, the system only allows group and userlist members to delete single textures, and only the owner can delete an entire category.
(keeping in mind, if it's set to owner only.. the group and userlist can't even use the system, let alone delete anything)
To use as a HUD, simply wear the organizer, and it will scale itself down automatically to fit. When rezzed in the world, it will scale back up accordingly. Making it extremely handy when you're working with a restricted number of prims!

Great organiser with some drawbacks & worst of all, NO SUPPORT
I bought this earlier this year in the shop and was unable to leave a review before. This time someone gifted me one, not realising I had one already.
While it is not the only texture organiser I use, it certainly has great features - switching between sculpty and texture mode, and scanning or duplicates are very useful, search mode should be a must on all organisers.
BUT - and this is inexcusable - the creator offers NO SUPPORT. I notecarded and sent her IMs numerous times about an issue I had. I had no reply ever... even though I could see from the group that she had logged in several times since I had sent my messages.
Basically the organiser's texture preview screen suddenly became obstructed by another prim. Resizing the prim did not help, so all textures had to be put into another organiser (very laborious!!) Eventually I did find an answer to the issue and it seems I am not the only one who had had this problem.
Other reviewer have commented before on this, going back years and nothing has been done about it... the delete button is just too prominent and textures can easily be accidentally deleted. I too covered it with another prim - you don't actually need it as you can also delete via the menu. Again, a sign that this texture organiser is simply not receiving support.
So - if you are thinking about spending your Lindens on this - be aware that there is no support from the creator, and I suggest you keep a back-up of your textures at all times. If you have problems with this, you are unfortunately on your own.

I was skeptical about buying this, only because of all the negative reviews it gets from having an unresponsive creator.
Mixed reviews from people, some saying it's worthless junk and others saying it's saved their inventories.
Well I only consider myself to be a newbie content creator and I was able to figure this thing out in just a few moments. It so far has completely made all my other texture organizers useless and I've been moving all my textures into this KinEx one. It's loads my textures much quicker then other organizers I've used, and I find it rather easy to use...
My only gripe about it, as others have said, is where the delete button is. Even after only using it for a few hours I found myself accidentally deleting one of my bought textures. I did as others in the reviews suggested and placed a prim over the delete button to keep from accidentally clicking it.
Even with an unresponsive creator (as others have suggested, I have not personally tried to contact him/her), and an oddly placed delete button I have to give this item five stars. It's well worth 600L to any content creator with thousands of textures in their inventory.

Not for beginners :(
I'm sure somebody with experience could use this, but I couldn't make heads or tails out of it. The 'simple' instructions were useless...never could get this thing to work...much less load a texture. I made sure the textures were the 'right' kind that wouldn't be returned...,but it didn't matter. Not one texture stayed in this thing. The visual guide to get it running didn't help either. It looks nice, and like I said, it's probably great for someone who knows what they are doing, knows about quick keys, knows about manipulating items/inventory/selecting multiple items/etc....but I wouldn't recommend for beginners. I will never use this thing.
lousy customer service !
The Kinex is a nice organizer. Easy to use but very laggy. I do have one major complaint though, which every user must know. I have had the organizer for over a year now and have been trying to contact the maker for about that long also. She will not reply or answer any of her notecards or make any effort whatsoever to help me rectify a problem i have. For customer service she gets a big fat zero. As a creator she must realize if her customers are left unhappy, then her products will never be promoted again. Go to the other low rating reviews and see how many others agree with me.

OVERVIEW
The KinEx is easy to use and incredibly fast. Operation is reasonably intuitive with a short learning curve. You can insert line breaks into the floating text for the Category buttons, which makes the text a lot easier to read and prevents long, overlapping titles.
FEATURE REQUESTS
* The ability to resize the HUD to larger sizes would be a huge plus. The thumbnails on the default size are difficult to see (we ain’t all got eagle eyes) and it can be tricky to click the correct Category button.
* While the default size of the HUD is too small, it is large enough to obstruct much of your viewing area. It would be very helpful if it could be minimized to a single button.
* The ability to search by creator would help locate pirated textures.
* Clicking Dupe Scan automatically deletes duplicates. But texutres are often renamed; I’d like to be able to choose which title is deleted.
SHORTCOMINGS
The huge Delete button makes it easy to accidentally and permanently lose a texture. You can quickly and safely delete a texture by clicking its thumbnail and then using the menu so I placed a prim over the Delete button to disable it (I put the instructions in it with a notecard giver to provide quick reference).
Even better would be to change the Delete function to Remove, which would move deleted textures to your inventory. This would allow recovery in case of mistakes.
SUMMARY
Even with its faults, the KinEx is pretty much everything I was looking for and more. I highly recommend it.

Holy crap i've paid way to much for the rest of the organizers i have tried since 2007;
when i entered sl i have purchased & tested over 8 brands of texture/sculpt organizers some well cost me 1200$L+ each... all of wich failed me until now!
((i damn near wet my shorts when i was loading this thing at how fast it responds without any loss))
Wish they made one of these to help me sort my scripts now LOL
Finally a functional organizer & cost effective organizer created by a true builder....
for builders & everyday users (it's sooooo simple to use!!!) KinEx is The BEST :-)
