First announced at the Second life Community Conference August 2011 with 9+ free major revisions since then. 2015 AND 2016 Avi Choice Award Winner! Updates for life are always free!!

This is not a SL photography toy. This is a serious photography tool for working in virtual worlds and is the first commercially available lighting system to use projection prim capability.

This is a best selling photography tool in secondlife. Just search the marketplace keyword "photography".
Considering something else? Look at how many reviews they've had so far in 2018 compared to LUMIPro.

Watch this video to fully appreciate the value of this system vs other systems. Also check out our 28 page PDF manual (who else does that?!).

LUMIPro is a game changer in lighting for photography in SecondLife. It was developed by a photographer RL who found the lighting systems available in SL inadequate and got tired of the limitation of rezzing prim and moving them each time he reposed his model. LUMIPro changes all this.

LUMIPro is a HUD worn by the photographer that controls all aspects of lights worn by the model or self. Photographer can adjust position, color, radius, and falloff. It all works in zero rez sims! The built in posing system controls ten models independently and again, without the need to rez for pose stands. This version contains both projectors for perfect shadows and the best eye management system on SL (121 position) as well as a camera and scene management system.

Gallery of LUMIPro based photos is available at our studio.

Technical note: Not all graphics cards are able to cast shadows. If you set your graphics to ultra and can't see shadows from the outdoor sun, then you'll likely not seem them with LUMIPro.

TIP: If you have any doubts about purchasing, just take a peek at the PDF. If you find it intimidating, think twice. If you’re impressed, buy.

One reviewer trashed the product because they couldn’t figure out how to use it. Duh. Anything that is truly functional is going to have a learning curve. And yes, the curve on the LumiPro is steep. You don’t buy a $1,000+ Canon or Nikon and expect the camera to take great pictures. Or buy a Steinway and expect to sit down and play Beethoven. You have to study and practice. Even then you need something that just can’t be taught. Like the saying goes, “It’s a poor carpenter who blames the tools.” The LumiPro is an incredible tool but it is for serious photographers. The creator even cautions you about that.

Most photography is about controlling the subject’s poses (if people are in the shot), the setting or background, and the lighting. (Of course the framing and camera angle tie it all together but you can’t put that into a HUD or studio.)

I had been focusing on finding a good studio to control the background but all were a major disappointment when it came to lighting. Then I discovered the LumiPro and realized I had been looking for the wrong product. The control over lighting is a photographer’s dream. And the other reviewers fail to mention the posing functions (I don’t see it in the manual but yes, you can add your own poses. Just drop them in.)

All that’s left for you (other than your skill as a photographer) is to find the right setting. Hmm. Maybe a future update will include a scene rezzer. *Drool*

Not a magical fix, but truly magical results.

Will start with an honest comment - until you get the hang of it, this system makes you grind your teeth a lot; it can be confusing at first and somewhat frustrating trying to position the lighting orbs and setting the right lighting settings. But persevere and you will be A-M-A-Z-E-D! with what the LumiPro can do! I've been playing with the system for a while now and I still wind up going "huh" and being that little bit more impressed each time.

Its not a magical quick fix. Be aware of that. If you're looking at buying this and expecting incredible pictures with zero effort, don't buy it; it won't do that. What it will do is give you an INSANE level of control over how you light your subjects - and the ability to that ANYWHERE! No longer are you tied to your studio, moving lights around in a clunky manner and praying they would dim just the way you wanted, or only cast so much light on one part of your model. With the LumiPro (and perseverance) you can go anywhere you want and light your photographs EXACTLY how you want.

Add to that a creator who actively welcomes your feedback on new features and a support staff and community who will chime in and help you figure out things, make interesting new suggestions (and explain to you how frustrated they were in the beginning with the same bits you are then help you resolve that) and you have one of the most incredible inworld tools ever.

Sometimes items are expensive because they are worth it, the Lumipro is a prime example of that.

This product is phenomenal, I purchased it yesterday and wanted to conduct a full test on it, to see if it was as awesome as I have heard / seen. Without a doubt, this DOES help a lot with shadows and smoothing of images. So many options & easy to use. I'd recommend it to other people in a heart beat, well already have actually lol. Good buy TY creator ... 10 stars if i could!

Well worth the investment!!!

Being a rookie photographer I struggled with shelling out the $$$ for this item but after weighing the pros & cons, I got it & have never looked back. You don't need a studio, this gives you the freedom to shoot anywhere & control your lighting, FREEDOM!!! (in my best Braveheart voice). Easy to use, intuitive, great options & controls, all in one complete package. I've barely begun to tap into the potential of what Lumipro has to offer which in turn inspires creativity to push your own imagination. If you are sitting on the fence get off & make the investment, you'll be happy you did & save your rear from the pain of sitting there.
