I made this dental radiological unit to support medical roleplay scenarios calling for easy access to a simulated x-ray device to be used in dental care role-play and training applications. The produce includes three items: (1) simulated x-ray device, (2) pre-loaded radiological wall display and (3) wall display that allows owners to load their own radiological images to the display.
Please note the dental chair shown in the photo is a separate product with animations for dentist and patient, see my my listing for complete details.
As stated above, this simulated x-ray device includes two types of wall displays: #1 features a selection of seven good quality dental x-ray images to use with your roleplay scenarios and #2 allows you to show your own selection of images you may have curated for your rp scenarios. The mesh x-ray unit has a land weight of 14, while the mesh wall display each have a weight of 2.
Dimensions are 1.6 wide by 0.6 deep by 2.35 for the x-ray device and 0.77 wide by 0.57 tall by 0,07 deep for the wall display. Both feature touch to rescale (touch the wheel on bottom of control stand directly below control unit and the on-screen rescale menu will appear).
You can use chat commands to move the x-ray device on the floor as you stand anywhere nearby. Use private chat channel /7 to control x and y position of the x-ray unit near whatever style chair you are using (please note my dental chair is sold separately). Commands "up" and "down" move x-ray unit in direction of head of chair or foot of chair, while commands "right" and "left" move over those sides of patient's body. The unit will move in small steps each time you key one of the four command words. That way you can easily move the unit in small increments without using edit mode. Also if needed, you can easily adjust the unit's z position by using your edit controls to adjust height.
The X-Ray tube will also rotate horizontally at the end of the suspension arm (the suspension arms do not move). Touch the arm to the left (the one nearest the unit and stand) to slowly rotate the tube in clockwise direction. Touch that arm again to stop rotation. Touch the arm to the right (the one nearest the x-ray tube) to slowly rotate the tube in counter-clockwise rotation. Touch that arm again to stop rotation. This feature gives you additional positioning realism working with this device.
Touch the red button x-ray unit to begin simulation of x-ray operation consisting of a series of chat warning messages, signal tones and tube activation sounds. Notice the green light near the red button also shows a brief strobe light effect at the moment of x-ray tube sound activation.
Two wall displays are included for your use.
1. The first wall display is preloaded with seven high quality x-ray images: blank screen, complete set of teeth, side view showing gum condition, side view of teeth, incisors, molars, and an injured tooth. Touch display to change image and also see chat message naming the image shown.
2. The second wall display allows you to create your own image display with a collection of your own images. Gather your own collection of x-ray images, upload them to your inventory, then go into edit mode on the contents tab of the display screen to place your images there. The display will reset each time you load an image into its contents. You can create as many of these as you like (but please note the display units are no transfer). Touch display to change image and also see chat message showing name you gave the image.
I recommend you use images 700 pixels wide by 525 pixels tall so they can be seen on display without shape distortion. You can add a great many images to this slide display, but for convenience and practical role play use you probably should limit each display you rez to specific rp scenarios and create additional displays for each scenario you use.
Please keep me in the loop as to how you use it, I am delighted to discuss modifications and new functions to increase your medical role-play and training success.
