Replica of The Parliamentary Library of Canada
One year was involved in creating this beautifully rendered and textured replica of The Parliamentary Library of Canada. Please linger and zoom in to fully appreciate the detail, both inside and outside, includig the interior of the cupola.
SL Library features working doors, Clock, and windvane, has empty basement and interior perimeter for Stores, offices or living area. The structure is Rez-Faux for easy construction and movement. NO mesh is used, only custom sculpties so everyone will be able to enjoy it. The Library is 1/3 of the Complete Parliament Building. The Peace Tower and Main building will be released next on marketplace. The scale and detail of this Library astounds everyone that sees it.
The load bearing walls are supported by a ring of eye catching 16 flying buttresses. The windows are surrounded by stone trim. The three-tiered roof is topped by a cupola and the detail here is remarkable. The combination of colours — grey Gloucester limestone and grey Nepean, red Potsdam, buff Ohio sandstones, purple and green slate banding add to this lovely polychromy-style structure.
The main reading room features a many-story vaulted ceiling and the walls and stacks are lined with carved panelling. Standing directly in the centre of the room is a white marble statue of Queen Victoria. Also note the working clock that keeps the time of the library's RL location, Ottawa.
The RL library boasts a collection of about 600,000 volums, covering hundreds of years of history and cared for by a staff of approximately 300.
