Loading Gauge

The loading gauge is designed to check that railway rolling stock with or without load meets the headroom limits for the network. Though constructed approximately to scale for the UK railway network, it is easily edited to fit other gauges.

The TSR version takes advantage of the facilities offered in SL to give electronic sensing. This is notionally performed by means of a cyan laser which is beamed down to the track. It is toggled on & off by touching any part of the gauge, and will remain active for 10 minutes. A beacon flashes green when sensing is in operation, and red for 10 seconds as a warning of negative clearance. When a vehicle passes under the gauge, the clearance is reported in public chat.

Both manual & scripted operation are supported.
