The Koppen Climate Classification divides the climates into five main groups and several types and subtypes:

Group A: Tropical Climates

* Tropical Rain Forest (Singapore) - wet throughout the year. Average yearly temperature of 80F. No difference between seasons.
* Tropical Monsoon (Miami, Bangladesh, Jakarta, Bahamas) - Mostly wet, with a dry month ususally in the winter. Average annual temperature of 76F.
* Savanna (Honolulu and Veracruz) - A pronounced dry season with a yearly temperature average of 77F.

Group B: Dry Climates

* Arid (Yuma) - Dessert and Steppe regions, average annual temperature of 76F with summer highs in the 90's. Very little precipitation.

Group C: Temperate Climates

* Mediterranean (Madrid, Los Angeles, Perth, San Francisco) - Moderate temperatures, with rainy weather. Mild summers and nearby oceans that prevent rain yet cause fog. Average annual temperature of 57F.
* Humid Subtropical (Dallas, Atlanta, Brisbane) - Ususally located in the interior of continents and have humid summers but a uniform rainfall all year. Average annual temperature of 66F .
* Maritime Temperate (Seattle, Limoges, Bergen) - Ususally on the western side of continents north of Mediterranean climates. Dominated by a year-round polar front which often causes overcast and rainy waither. Cool summers and mild winters with an average temperature of 53F.
* Maritime Subartic (Reykjavik, Harstad) - Always north of Maritime Temperate climates, ususally narrow coastal landmasses. Cool year-round with an annual average of 40F.

Group D: Continental Climates: the KÃ???????????oppen system definesthese climates as having a summer with temperatures greater than 50F and no colder than -26F in the winter.

* Hot Summer (Boston, Chicago, Kansas City) - Ususally uniform precipitation or wet summers, or wet winters. Average temperature of 56F. The summer reaches temperatures in the 80's, winters see temperatures around freezing.
* Mild Summer (Fargo, Stockholm, Mink) - ALways north of Hot Summer climates with somewhat cooler temperatures. Temperatures on average are 41F with highs in the summer in the 70's, lows in the winter of 6F.

Group E: Polar

* Polar(North Pole) - Basicly freezing temperatures year round, with lows hitting -27F on average. Permanant winter contidions.

Love this system overall.
It really has made my SL more interesting!
Seriously everyone should have one of these. I have a mid-sized parcel with three sky-areas up, and this really is awesome!
