MICA – Group Security Barrier
Invisible, Low-Lag Land Access Control for Second Life™
Take control of your land access without ugly ban lines or intrusive security orbs.
The MICA Group Security Barrier is a lightweight, modular access system designed for residents, landlords, and community spaces who want clean, reliable group-based protection without disrupting travel or immersion.
Key Features
Invisible by default (toggle visibility with Ctrl + Alt + T)
Group-only access control (uses llSameGroup enforcement)
Low-lag design optimized for multi-panel builds
Modular system: each panel operates independently
Full perm prim build for complete customization
Config card included for quick on/off control
Gentle pushback instead of harsh teleports
Local chat feedback for group-tag reminders
Why This System Exists
Traditional SL security tools often create visual and social disruption:
Ban lines break immersion and look visually harsh
Security orbs interrupt boats, planes, and public movement
Many rental estates prohibit both
The MICA Barrier was built as a respectful alternative:
a way to protect your space while preserving the experience of others in-world.
How It Works
Only avatars wearing your land group tag may pass freely
Non-members are gently pushed back to their original position
Group members without an active tag receive a reminder in local chat
Each panel functions independently for flexible layouts and large parcels
On rez, the barrier is invisible and ready to deploy.
Use Ctrl + Alt + T to visualize placement.
Customization
You are free to:
Resize and reshape panels
Change textures
Unlink and reconfigure layouts
Designed for builders, estate owners, and roleplay environments requiring adaptable perimeter control.
Limitations
This system does not prevent:
Teleport entry exploits (e.g. sit-to-teleport methods)
For full parcel lockdown, use alongside estate-level security tools or whitelisting systems.
Best Use Cases
Private homes and estates
Roleplay regions
Rental properties
Clubs and community builds
Low-impact security zones
Scenic or travel-sensitive parcels
Design Philosophy
Built for Second Life residents who value:
Clean visuals
Respectful land control
Low-script impact
Smooth visitor experience
Security should protect your space — not punish everyone passing through it.
