Just drop this script on any door and click for a nice smooth opening action. It's that easy. The door goes phantom when open to avoid bumping into it.
Works on doors that are part of a linked set of objects. If the door is the root prim, the entire linked set will rotate. If it's not, only the door will rotate.
By default the door rotates around its centre. To make it rotate around one side, if it is a tall, rectangular door - just right click the door to edit it and, in the object tab, set 'Path Cut Begin' to 0.125 and 'Path Cut End' to 0.375. Presto chango! Door rotates around the side. Easy. For other shaped doors just use the same principle and tweak the settings as required.
Once you add the script anyone can open the door. To restrict access, just add the names of those you want to allow access to in the place indicated in the script. I have clearly marked in the script where to do this. It's easy. Trust me. You can even allow all members of a group to open the door, without having to type every single name into the list. Just set the door to belong to that group, change one setting in the script and you're done.
The door will close automatically after ten seconds or when touched, which ever happens first. You can easily change the time the door stays open by typing the number of seconds into the place clearly indicated in the script. You can even make it stay open permanently.

Great script
Does exactly what they say it does, and serves its purpose flawlessly. Nice, and simple. Just throw it in the door and off you go. I couldn't edit my door like they said to make the door open on its edge rather then its center, but attaching a invisible root prim to my one prim mesh door made them open from the edge rather then the middle flawlessly.

Actually 10 stars. The script is just perfect for a builder's needs. Links to the building and the customer doesn't have to edit the script to get it to work correctly. Except for the adding persons part.

THANK YOU! wow, this script does exactly what it says. for so long i have had a problem linking doors to my builds. if the door is not the base prim of your build you can link your door without rotating walls or ANY other prims! using the path cut to rotate from 1 side of the prim works perfectly! this script saved me so much money. my only other option was to spend a large amount on a rez system. what a great alternative solution!!!

OK! I have built an elaborate fairy tale castle and wanted a large amethyst fireplace with a roaring fire in it to rotate out to reveal a secret hidden passage way!
And of course it had to open from both sides! And it couldn't be instant or that would ruin the effect!
It took me less than two minutes after I got this script to have it working flawlessly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
