Welcome to my Medieval Castle let me show you around.

The foundations were laid in the 12th century on the ruins of an even earlier Norman Mott & Bailey castle but several wars and plagues later this version rose from the rubble, only the dungeon & cellars date from this time, you will find they still keep the gloom of the age and you can delight in locking up your captives and watching them struggle behind the thick oak door.

Above the dungeons extensive re-building was carried out in Tudor times and imported limestone from Purbeck was used to line the stark granite and an elaborate staircase was introduced replacing the one that originally spiraled up the twin towers, larger mullioned windows were introduced at this time and small diamond paned, glazed windows installed against the weather.

A family of itinerant craftsmen and artists ( from Italy they said, but more likely Romany) were employed to decorate the walls and ceilings and they lavished their skills on every surface they could find, each of the six rooms has a ceiling adorned with painted scenes and a miracle of magic allows you to browse through the entire collection and choose the one you prefer.

Stopping briefly to marvel at the grand staircase rising from the lobby you can take the staircase down into the main hall. This large vaulted hall has a giant fireplace and has hosted numerous banquets and dances, there is plenty of room and the pillars provide a wonderful ambience as the firelight flickers. Looking up you are amazed by the stained glass window its glowing colours adding to the flickering light on the walls and floor below, the arched vaulting lifts the roof and the painted surfaces are a perfect compliment to the limestone architecture.

As with all grand schemes the Baron ran out of funds before the renovations were completed and rather than lock up the top floor he introduced an awning on each of the penthouse apartments allowing the rooms to be used in the summer months and reminding the Baron so much of his days under canvas campaigning in France that he much preferred living in those rooms. In summer he would take his wife up the ladder and they would lay on animal furs and cushions and in a deep embrace watch the shooting stars as they fell to earth. They were even known to hold dances on the roof, inviting all their friends!

I hope you find plenty in this build to entertain you and your friends and that it helps add realism to your role play and sim.

The castle sits on a 50 x 40 metre base and comprises a dungeon corridor, entrance lobby, grand staircase, 4 standard apartments, 2 penthouse apartments, flat roof with battlements and a large vaulted hall. All the apartments have texture change ceilings with a choice of 15 textures. The building is just one linkset and can be moved over and over without loosing doors, there is no rezzer and no un-necessary scripts making this as low lag as possible. As with all sculpted builds I suggest you set your LOD factor to above 4.

This version is fully editable and I suggest you make a copy before starting any alterations.
A full set of textures is included as well as the copiable extra items, including a detailed log fire with cast iron grate, flaming wall torches and a dance mat with a variety of gothic textures.

Please note that the building is NOT transferable. If you wish to purchase for another person please use the 'send as gift' option.

If you find any problems with this product please don't hesitate to get in touch with Gwenni Fraisse.

Good until you want to mod it

All good until you unlink a piece then the whole thing becomes unusable as in you can no longer go through the doorways even if you try to change physics. I purchased this because it was the closest to what i was looking for as long as i could make a few changes. Not so.
