Thank you for your interest in Merlin Machines Delta Wing Flying Mini-Sub. if you enjoy boating across the waterways of Second Life or gliding along under the surface, if you enjoy Flying through the skys at break-neck speeds, or serenely floating along, or any combination of these things the vehicle is for you.
The sleek, modern design looks just as good flying through the air as it does slicing through the waves. As a mini-sub, you can leap out of the water, and hit the surface as a boat, or just switch to a plane right into a verticle climb. It also has a "jump drive" that will instantly take you any place within a region up to 4000m. You can put landmarks into your vehicle's contents folder, rename it something short and jump to it with 2 words in the open chat like "jump dock" for example.
If you are a boat and you push the "forward arrow" your boat smoothly transitions to a mini-sub. Use the "back arrow" and you'll leap off the water as the plane. There are 11 forward and 2 reverse speeds. There are views: Periscope (looking forward from 10m above), Forward (from inside cockpit), Above (looking straight down), Left & Right (looking forward from off to either side), Dorsal (looking forward from above and behind), Aft (looking forward from directly behind), and Ventral (looking forward from below and behind).
You can "lock" your current depth or altitude, or use the preset "Periscope Depth" of 3-4m. Slowly rise or sink or emergency surface or launch to aircraft mode.
Also included with your purchase is a region scanner that will identify the "No Entry Zones" to help you avoid being unceremoniously dumped out of your vehicle as it placidly continues on its journey until returned to your inventory. Unfortunately, there is no way to identify parcels protected by "security orbs" so your only defense in that case is to push the throttle to the max and hope you can pass out of the area in the usually ridiculously short amount of time allotted to you. The scanner also locates Rez Zones should you need to rez another vehicle without having to return to your point of origin. Another feature of the scanner is that it can trigger a jump to any place in region you double-click on, at your current altitude/depth.
Dynamic Color Customization.
You can select entires sections of the vehicle to change color, select a color theme by name from our list (with names like "TheHulk", "Ironman", "Stealth", and others), or choose "Random" and see what you get. You can also "Report" what colors are currently in use and save that to the "Colors" notecard to create your own themes!
