Mesh Gemstone Building Kit: Emerald Cut 5:4 Version 1.1

This is a full-permission mesh builder's kit, part of my series of gemstone packs, suitable for making your own jewelery projects. Included in the package you will find:

1. Two meshes of the gem shape you purchased. One is in a standardized one-caret size, but since that can be inconveniently small to work with, there is another in five hundred carets. These are full-permission meshes and can be textured or resized just like any other prim. They are pre-textured with the UV template.

2. A UV template image, with lines describing the UV pattern of the meshes. This template will be useful if you desire to make your own textures for the gems.

3. One palette, which contains all the pre-baked textures I've provided, and offers controls to alter the appearance of the gem without the need of manual editing. The use of the palette is described in a section below, but note that the use of it is optional.

4. Exhaustive instructions and usage notes.

My mesh gem products are precisely crafted representations of real-world gemstone cuts. They include numerous and varied textures, created specifically for each gemstone using a sophisticated physically-based rendering process. In addition, the gems are flexible enough to gracefully take on other generic gemstone textures, and tools are provided to help you make your own textures if you prefer. As with all of my sculptie and mesh sets I strive to provide a professional toolkit that you can use to extend your own creativity, and I hope you will be pleased with the result.

Terms of Service

My full-permission building packs, such have this one, are always distributed under the same generous terms of service. I have developed this TOS based on my desire that my customers have the most possible freedom in using their purchases. Items I sell are unfettered by copy-protection mechanisms (that do not work and are just annoying), and their permissions are not limited, and furthermore I do not believe in insulting my customers with legal threats. For three years I have counted on the honor of my customers so that I can maintain my business, and this has proved to be a successful and sustainable business model. I have rarely been disappointed. With that in mind, the specific terms of my TOS are as follows:

1. You may of course use my products simply for personal use: building a necklace or a house for yourself.

2. You may also use my products as components in things that you sell or give away, for example, the diamond in a wedding ring, or the arch that supports the front door of a house, as long as those things are non-copiable, non-transferable, or non-modifiable.

3. You may also use my products on non-Linden grids, such as OpenSim. You may give your own avatar on these other grids copies of what you've bought from me, and give away or sell products based on them as described in #2.

4. You do not need to credit me, and you do not owe me any proceeds of the profits you make off things you sell that include my products.

5. The only thing you may not do is give away or resell my products by themselves. For example, you may not sell a sculptie texture, or an individual mesh item. It must be included in something you yourself built. You also may not distribute the package that you bought to other people.

The upshot of the TOS is that I want you to be able to use my products to further your own business, while still being able to sell full-perm packs like this to other customers without competition. If you have questions that aren't covered here please contact me directly for clarification.

I retain the original COLLADA files for all the various products I make. There is no straightforward way to make these available to you using the marketplace, but if you would like a copy of the COLLADA file (so you could, for example, upload your own gem mesh that has your creator name on it, or make your own custom textures for one) please contact me and I will arrange for delivery via email for a nominal fee.
