[Mostly Cars] - CV-8 Sports Car

For decades, real-world car manufacturers have used the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit as a proving grounds for high performance vehicles. A fast lap around the "Ring" is a testament to the engineering prowess of the company and the quality of the car.

In SL, we have the Corsica Loop.

The road that travels around the perimeter of the Corsica continent is full of long, fast stretches of road combined with hills and sweeping corners. For most drivers, it's a pleasant and relaxing cruise.

At high speeds, it becomes a narrow and dangerous test, requiring absolute precision as you travel from region to region in order to avoid the dangers that lie at the edges of the pavement.

In September of 2019, the Drivers of SL group along with the Spirit Racing League launched the Corsica Rally loop - a 10.5km timed lap of the continent, starting and ending near Road Runners. Drivers who completed the course would have their time recorded, and a leaderboard at RR would display the top ten all-time runs, as well as the best runs of the week.

Mostly Cars made its first attempt at the loop in November, with a specially-built GT car that took the #1 spot on the leaderboard on only its second attempt. As time went by, other drivers and cars would go faster, but the GT would return to retake the record with other drivers. At its peak, the GT held five of the top ten spots on the board.

Fast-forward to 2022 - the new CV-8 sports car is the evolution of that early work, improving on what started with the GT. In the days before this vehicle was released to the public, it shattered the Corsica Rally record by over 45 seconds, settting a time of 6:34.07 to topple the previous record (held by the GT) of 7:20.70.

This record stood until March 23rd of 2023, when it was finally overtaken by a friend using a car built on the same script line as the GT and the CV-8, modified by Mostly Cars for the purpose of breaking mainland time records all across the grid.

Crafted specifically for driving on mainland roads in SL, this version of the car uses the Animats vehicle script system to provide a solid, reliable driving experience.

Per a prior agreement, the original scripts are available full perm and free of charge as part of this package.
