Munchman
I am not the creator of the game I am just selling off some extra tables in my inventory from a sim I used to run.
Munchman is the life sized dot munching maze game where YOU enter the maze to stuff your face while outsmarting the devious ghosts!
* Preparing the Maze *
The first thing you need to do is prepare the maze. Rez the game controller at a position with a space of at least 32x32m available directly in front of it. You can rotate the controller to face any compass direction you want, but it must remain vertical. Also you'll need script run permission for the land, both for the game controller and for the players, and at least 368 free prims. When you're ready touch the "Rez Maze" button and wait a few moments for the maze to appear. Rezzing is complete when the menu reappears on the game controller.
If the position of the maze is wrong do not move the prims manually. Instead touch the "Owner" button and select "De-Rez" from the menu. You can then move the game controller to a new position and repeat the rezzing process.
Once the maze is rezzed Munchman is ready to play. For more advanced rezzing options please read the "Owner Menu" section later in these instructions.
* How to Play *
To play the game you'll need a player attachment. If you don't already have one touch the "Play" button and select either "Boy" or "Girl". The attachment will be delivered to you and should be worn.
Once you're wearing your attachment, which appears above your head, you're ready to play! Touch the "Play" button and you'll be transported to the centre of the maze. The aim of the game is to eat all of the white Munch Dots while avoiding the four ghosts which will try to hunt you down. Eat the dots by walking or running over them, and once the entire maze has been cleared you'll progress to the next level. The difficulty increases with each level. You'll lose a life if a ghost catches you, and after losing three lives the game is over.
As well as Munch Dots there are four Power Pellets located at each corner of the maze. These are larger and more shiney than the dots. When you eat a Power Pellet the tables are turned and you may hunt down the ghosts, which will have turned dark blue. Of course they'll try to escape you! When the ghosts start to flash blue and white the Power Pellet is about to expire and you'd better take care, as the ghosts will soon return to hunt you.
From time to time fruit will appear near the centre of the maze. Consuming this will gain you extra points.
You'll notice that there are two special passages at each side of the maze, identified with a circular spinning Maze Warp. By walking onto the Maze Warp you will zip across to the other size of the maze in an instant, which can be very handy for avoiding persistent ghosts!
You should take care not to leave the maze while a game is in progress, as this could cost you a life. Leaving the ground will also cost a life, so no trying to jump over the maze walls!
* Ghost Behaviour *
The four ghosts will alternate regularly between hunting and scattering. While hunting each ghost has a distinct personality, which you can study and use to your advantage to avoid getting caught. Ghost hunting behaviour may seem random at first, but it is not.
During a scatter each ghost will head to patrol a different corner of the maze, ignoring the player's position. As the levels progress the ghosts will spend more time chasing and less time scattering. Ghosts also move faster as the level increases.
Ghosts always move forward in a straight line until they reach a junction. A ghost will never exit the same way it approached the junction unless there's no other option, and it will never turn around between junctions except at the instant a Power Pellet is gobbled. While being hunted ghosts will always try to move away from the player, but they must still obey the rules at junctions. Note that ghosts cannot use the Maze Warps!
Any attempt to impede ghost movement (also known as cheating) will be detected and result in a lost life.
* Scoring *
The player's name and score is shown on the Munchman game controller during a game.
For each Munch Dot gobbled you'll score 10 points.
Munching a Power Pellet scores 50 points.
Catching a ghost is worth 200 points.
The score for fruit is shown above it.
At the end of each game player scores are uploaded to the Ember Games Live website. To view the high scores for your Munchman unit as well as the overall scores for the whole grid, touch the "High Scores" button on the game controller. The Ember Games Live URL will appear in your local chat window - simply click it, or copy and paste into your web browser.
