The NorPhone PBX is a multi-purpose networking tool developed by Northbridge Business Systems for use on the Gentek Telecom network.
ALL NORPHONE PRODUCTS ARE ACTUAL FUNCTIONING TELEPHONES! They are the ONLY phones in Second Life that actually place and receive calls gridwide. You can talk to anyone with a NorPhone using text chat.
The NorPhone PBX is a specialized call routing tool used to create line splitters, phone trees, and holding queues. Incoming calls can trigger multiple phones to ring at the same time (split), be routed to a specific line depending on the caller's choice (dial tree), find a single available line in a call center (sequence), or hold the call with optional music until the "downstream" phone is available (hold). The PBX cannot make calls on its own, and cannot be used without connecting it to one or more other NorPhones.

The NorPhone PBX by NBS is a fantastic tool for building phone networks in your building (or multiple buildings across the grid, whatever you feel like doing). The PBX allows you to set up dialing trees ("Press 1 for customer service, Press 2 to speak to a sales associate.", etc.), splitters (ring multiple phones at once when a specified number is called), and more!
It's easy to setup. The manual is very straight-forward for every user to understand, and it's configured through the web - no annoying notecards!
I highly suggest the NorPhone system, and the PBX component.
