The Merlin Machines NX-01 Starship Deck A is one of the most advanced role play starship bridge sets available in Second Life. Patterned after a starship from one of the most popular and successful science fiction franchises in history, this role play set is chock full of features.
The bridge has 7 stations plus the captain's chair: Communications, Engineering, Tactical, Science, Helm, and 2 generic stations. The captain's chair has 9 different animations that can be switched between using the shift-arrow keys. Many of the other chairs will have a number of different animations to choose from as well. The chairs for the Tactical, Science, and Helm stations also move between 2 positions.
Most doors can be locked or set to allow entrance only to certain personnel. They can also be set to open on approach or require touching the control pad.
The base Deck A set has a land impact of 347 and rooms will only have sets while occupied. There are 4 room sets that will appear when the door opens (Bridge, Ready Room, Conference Room, and Communications/Sensor Bay) and 3 editable sets that can be customized for whatever you want (if you can build or have access to someone who can). There is also a working transporter!
The display of the main view screen and most monitors can be changed by touching them & selecting a new texture from a menu. You can add your own displays as well. Some displays are also animated.
One of the most fun features is the Simulated Battle Strike when the bridge can be shaken as if hit by enemy fire. Really adds a level of realism to any role play scenario.
