Neptune's Revenge Pirate Fantasy Roleplay Sailing Ship Version 1
"He wrongly accuses Neptune, who makes shipwreck a second time." - Publilius Syrus
The Neptune's Revenge is the newest release from Rustica, the result of a project which began in 2012 to design an original mesh sailing ship from the keel up. A challenge most worthy, it has been re-constructed 3 different times and re-textured twice in order to achieve the final result, a fantasy style that is not specific to age or empire so that it will fit with a wider range of styles/genres/RP settings, from Medieval to Pirate to Early America. It is the most technically difficult object I have ever created, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making it.
Neptune's Revenge comes with the following items:
2 Versions of the ship -
• Unfurled Sails Ship Rezzer Box 305 Li /290 without deckhouse
• Furled Sails Ship Rezzer Box 342 Li /327 Li without deckhouse
Note: Deckhouse/house physics shape not linked to ships, they can be deleted after rezzing if you want to clear the decks.
• A blank cannon for scripting/combat use, two fixed cannons on the prow
• A Gangplank, for boarding/ unboarding/ executions-at-sea
• A copyable Candle Lantern for lighting the ship to your taste!
• An animated, flexi Jolly Roger flag, if you want to be all piratey. Yargh.
• A framed portrait of the Revenge, taken by Rainey Manx, to adorn a wall or shelf.
It has the following features:
• Rezzer Box for easy placement
• 95% Mesh, 5% invisible prim physics shape (simpler & more accurate to script for sail/combat)
• Hull is 7.2m Wide, 30m Long, 7m High
• Total ship is 13m Wide, 35.5m Long, 30.2m High
• Modify and Copy, No Transfer; Scale or color it (watch out, land impact increase is exponential!) If at any time you move or delete some part of the ship, simply delete all the parts and use a new rezzer box from your inventory.
• The ship is NOT SCRIPTED for sail/movement. The Masts, Sails, Rudder, Helm all have corrected rotation center point position for wind/sail scripting, the hull is in 4 sections for combat compatibility, ready to adapt to your specific needs. It is a STATIC item.
• Cabin with sliding doors, bulkhead lantern, stern windows and built-in shelving.
• Cabin bed has multi-page texture menus for pillows and cover changing!
• Solid mesh rigging/ropes, not alpha textures.
- original models and texturing, 95% mesh
- 2 rez box versions of the ship, sails furled and unfurled
- Cabin w/ doors, bulkhead lamp and texture change bunk
- Xtra Bits: Deck Cannon, Lantern, Animated Flag, Gangplank
- Therapy-inducing levels of detail (not you, I need the therapy)
Sails are too primmy.
I trimmed the furled version down to 182 prims absolute total, physics shape included, by simply pulling off the cannons. Pulling off the original furled sails. Replacing them with low prim furled up sails from the Mary Celeste. Linking the physics shape. Unphantoming and setting physics shape on a bunch of prims from convex hull to none to remove physics occlusion moving around the deck or cabin. That's without the boathouse, of course. Similar modification on the unfurled version resulted in 192 prims.
Fantastic build though. Love the ship. Don't regret it. Just takes advanced editing if you want to reduce total land impact to optimal.
