This simple but useful gadget makes it easy to keep in touch with your friends from anywhere in Second Life. No need to clutter your screen with IM boxes.
To use it, rez a copy and touch it for instructions. It picks a random channel when rezzed, so you need to touch it to find out what channel it selected.
To speak with someone, type their name on the channel it told you. For example, "/101 Cheshyr Pontchartrain". If he or she is on-line, you will be informed and the intercom will turn on. You can now talk to your friend by speaking in normal chat. Please note that your friends will need a copy to reply.
When you are finished talking, say "off" on the intercom's channel (for example, "/101 off".) Should you lose these instructions, touching the intercom will also tell you how it works.
TIP: If you want to talk to multiple people at once, rez a few intercoms and connect each with a different person. Then just chat and they'll all hear you.
As with all of my items, free updates are included for life, so be sure to rez a copy occasionally to see if a new version has been released.
New features include a viewscreen, additional models, guest use, and the ability to rez multiple intercoms next to each other, each able to talk to a different person, or used by a different person.
