Weimar! Presents;
Off sim old city borders
---------------------

Avoid disappointment, read carefully and see item inworld before buying!

*ABOUT THE OBJECT:
Sick of seeing that sea everywhere you look?
Tired of cut out horizons or prim heavy buildings just to make your sim look a little less like a skybox or island in the ocean?
These off sim old city borders may be what you are looking for.
6 old city houses can be rezzed all the way around your land to make you feel like you're living in a city.
They are off-center so you can rez them on the edge of your region/parcel border and they will stick out over the border, so they won't use up any of your space.
I've added two versions;
-1 row of houses, Land Impact of 10
-2 rows of houses, Land Impact of 18
You can also combine them so you have many more rows and you can easily change the facades of the buildings.
They are both 64 meters long!

I have also included a snowy roof texture, for when winter comes.

If you want to see these borders being used, visit Victorian London in Time Portal;

*ABOUT ME:
I am a Dutch woman obsessed with history, in RL I am a researcher.
Europe in the first half of the 20th century inspires me.
The objects I create are especially made for The 1920s Berlin Project sim and Time Portal where many of the tenants often have to live in small houses and bad neighbourhoods.

*SCALE:
I make things according to Prim Scale, a prim cube is 50cm x 50cm x 50cm.
Many avatars and Sims in SL have a totally unrealistic scale but more and more sims and shops are now using Prim Scale.
That means that the objects I make are made for realistic scaled avatars, if they seem too small to you, this probably is because you are rather big.
However, you can make my items bigger and adjust the animations to fit any size of avatar.

*INSTRUCTIONS
-Rezz the item by dragging it from your inventory onto the floor.
-Right click and select 'edit' to move it or rotate into the desired position.
-Use this same window to change the size by selecting stretch or change the textures.
-Position the item with the center right on the edge of your land but within the border.

*CHANGING THE OBJECT
-Because this is a mesh object you can easily change it.
-First make sure you keep at least one copy of the original, just in case you break it.
-Drag a texture from your inventory onto part of the object to change it, the facades of the buildings can simply be replaced by any picture of a facade you may have.
-The roofs and chimneys are one texture, so changing this is a bit more complicated but I've added the texture so if you're handy with photoshop you can also change those.
-If you change the size, the land impact may change.

*ABOUT MESH
If you make Mesh items bigger, they will usually start having a bigger land impact.
The item should look good but from a certain distance it may look distorted.
To make sure you see mesh in SL at well as possible, you may need to change the settings of your viewer.
This generally isn't needed but if you think that mesh distorts too often, you may try setting your Objects & Sculpts LOD setting to 4.
LOD settings can be changed in the graphics settings..
-Sometimes you can make the land impact go down by linking mesh with prims or other mesh items, but sometimes the land impact could go up.

Exactly what I needed

A great, simple offsim border piece that's modeled and UV mapped sensibility. Thanks to how the object is made, you're able to daisy-chain them together or use an anchor prim to move them even further off the edge of your region, and the separate mapped faces allow for different texturing for more variation.

This backdrop looks so realistic, with only utilizing 10 Prims!.. It's worth the money.
