This tool is perfect if you own a land sales office and need to let your customers know when your sales assistants are online/offline or if you own a club and want to let your visitors know when your DJ/Dancer/Host are online or offline.
This tool features a whole range of features and customization options such as, adding a notecard or landmark to send to anyone who touches the board and using the menu system. Adding an email address, allowing other avatars to email you from in-world or enabling IM options to get your message accross quicker!
You can also specify which avatars status to track. So you can setup all your boards easily without any backtracking. The board will also automatically fetch the avatars profile picture from the Second Life website. You can determine how often the board fetches this kind of information using the notecard config.
The Boards online/offline textures can also be set from within the notecard so you can add your own graphics to make the board feel more suited to how you want it.
You can also specify how many seconds the Email/IM features will timeout once active.
Now for the setup!
When you rezz your Online Indicator board it will automatically read the notecard config file for you and will do so upon updating the config file.
By right clicking the board and going to the Content Tab you will be presented with a script file and notecard. The notecard named 'config' is most important. Double click the notecard and you will be presented with the following...

This line determines a notecard you wish to give out to your visitors. Replace 'none' with the exact name of the notecard you wish to give. You must make sure the notecard is also added to the boards inventory.

This line determines a landmark you wish to give out to your visitors. Replace 'none' with the exact name of the landmark you wish to give. You must make sure the landmark is also added to the boards inventory.

timeout_amount=20
This line determines how long the board will return to its original state when a visitor selects the Email or IM options. By default it is 20 seconds.

email=none
This line determines the email address of the person you add. It's best to get permission from the person before applying this setting. Replace 'none' with the email address.

allow_im=yes
This line determines if the added person would like to receive IMs from anyone clicking the board with a question or request. By default it is enabled. To disable it simply change the line to allow_im=no.

These two lines specify the textures used on the board when the avatar is online or offline. If you would like to use your own textures. Simply remove the uiid keys and use your own.

This setting is crutial in order to get your board to work correctly. Simply add the uiid of the avatar you wish to keep track of and the board will do the rest for you.

This determines how often the board will send HTTP requests to fetch avatars online status. 2 Seconds is reccommended.

Very nice
I was simply using a prim that changed colors and wanted one of these, so I bought this one. It does what it's supposed to do and then some, and is inexpensive. The only drawback that I have with it is that it doesn't have a hovertext to let people know what to do by clicking on it, and even though I added the script, it didn't show up above the sign. Other than that, it's simple, straightforward, and serves it's purpose nicely.

After reading the previous review I went and checked to make sure it was copy-able and I was able to make several copies without a problem. Works great! No complaints and for 5 lindens.. its a steal.
Useless
Script is set to No Copy. So in all... You want to make a copy of the Board for another Staff Member and you are left with the Prim, the Notecard and no Script. It's useless if you plan to use it for your entire staff. Was only 5 Linden but creator should mention that it is ment for PERSONAL USE. Wasted my time and money on it and the 1 star rating is to Post my review.

I purchased this as something to show staff online...I already had hypertext and asked Stevoid if he could make something without the hypertext...within minutes, I had a new board just how I wanted it...10 Stars for product, price, and absolutely amazing customer service...You will not be sorry buying from MBC...
